What is your thought on them in general?

Some seem very respectful, some seem like they own the world just b/c they are patriotic.

What do you think about military discounts and free military stuff?

Just asking b/c a friend of mine said they don't deserve more extra shit then what they already get from the military. So, what's your opinion?

They're in a horrible position, but that's obvious.

It's easy to misuse their position, to make it a bully pulpit and exploit the emotion that comes with sending a girl or boy of your own off to war.

Things are probably different here in Australia, not so patriotic or rather, we show patriotism in different ways. Seems like patriotism in the US can be almost domineering... ?

The government has to offer some kind of monetary incentives to get people to join the military and that makes sense, after all they are required to take a lot of risks. What that's like for their families, I can only imagine. It must be difficult and so for that reason I think they should be entitled to additional discounts and whatever.

In response to Ristol, I wonder if it is exploiting their emotions or trying to mask them, or channelling them in a misguided way..
