Just read he's going to come back and play for France in the international games, including WC qualifying and more (if they qualify, which is unlikely)

Any thoughts?

lol. Sorry.

One of the reasons is from their poor performance at the qualifyings at the moment. Zidane used to be the best of the best, but his age is showing in his play. Whatever, dude not even french, he's algerian. lol

Ya, he can still perform certain outstanding plays, but like I said, he's past his prime. Great player nonetheless.

Makelele came also out of retirement? lol, damn, France really wants in.

Nah, Zidane is wealthy enough & an international wage is never substantial so forego this option & stick with the other one you mentioned.

I'd say he was one of the best within the last 10-20 years, but the 30 years ago period goes to Maradona

Edit: surprized Saha is not doing much for the French team, wasn't he suppost to be their new star 'rookie' if you wanna call it/

See the name of the thread, it says Zidane and France. Why would we talk about Brazil? When we wanna talk about Brazil and the greatest player they ever had (Pelle) we will. Till then, buzz off cause the only arrogance is coming from you at the moment.

Zidane is the best player of the past 90-00's.
Co-sign. :thumb:

There's a few other guys who were mind-blowing in this period of time but Zidane was just that bit more special.......even if Lambert marked him out of the game back in the day lol :D

Nah, born in Marseille & he's of Algerian descent.

And nobody told Zidane to quit - he chose to himself. The only question people raised, in regards to quitting, is if he should stay retired from international football.

And your ringing endorsement means what to "doubters"?

The best player of the past few years was not the topic though, Zidane was & is & people just gave their thoughts on the man.

One person made a crazy comment that meant that the "past few years" was extended to like 30 years & people responded accordingly.

Now, if you have an opinion to the contrary, then by all means give it. But there is no need to jump into the thread talking shit. And it might help if you specified more rather than just saying "brazilian" & "brazilians".

Maradona won the WC in 86 and reached the final in 90...so i think Maradona belongs into the last 20 year category ;)

.
And I was that person.. I said 20-30 years, but I had to say the last 10-15 years. But no player can play the best in 20 years, you know Ronaldo was in 94 the best player in the world and 2 years later he was the fattest player in the world. :)
Maradonna had his peak in 86. In 88-92 van Basten was a magnificent player and in the years 2000-2004 Zidane was simply the best. But it's about taste and what kind of player has your prefference.
