Yeah because Rangers are model representatives of Scotland aren't they?

Your lot can't go down to England without smashing the place up, hardly noble ambassadors.

And for the record, I don't see myself as Scottish, mainly because I've been subjected to 'tattie-munchin wanker' comments from Scottish people all too often in my life.

No, but they are Scottish. Come on, support your own when against foreign opposition especially when that opposition is English.

Scottish fans are very amicable. Rangers fans - on the whole - are Scottish. I can't think of anything we did particularly bad.

What do you see yourself as?

Btw, I was joking with the tattie comment....

I see myself as Irish. Ok so technically I'm 50/50 but I was born in Ireland and that swings it for me.

I assumed you were joking but after suffering abuse from people who certainly were not joking, it begins to grate a bit.

I don't intend to get into another full blown Old Firm argument on here as that's not what this thread is about and the topic has taken over more than one thread recently.

All I will say is that it's hard to find a Saltire at Ibrok hidden amongst all the UJ's, Red Hands and St. Georges's crosses. I'm not for one moment saying that they are any more prominent at Celtic Park, but then again we have never claimed to be a club with the best interests of Scotland at heart.

You do know that a tattie/tatty is a potato?

It is a referenceto someone's Irish leanings - in it's most malicious form I guess - & just a general bit of name-calling otherwise.

As for Rosco, if you consider yourself Irish because you were born there that's cool. Now my argument changes to support your brothers against their opposition, especially when that opposition is English.

You're taking this way too far. I'm a Celtic fan. I enjoy seeing our greatest rivals lose, no matter who the opponents. You mean to tell me you were cheering us on every step of the way during our UEFA Cup run?

No. That may be what the Scots call a potato but we certainly don't. As for any Celtic fan supporting Rangers? LOL that'll be the day. I'd support the Queen Elizabeth XI before I'd support Rangers :p

I thought the Irish called potatos 'tatties/tattys'....I would've put money on it as it an old, old term & most of our old terms are Irish in their roots. Oh well....

Your point about the Queen is part of my point. I might be a Rangers fan, but I despise the monarchy & have a distaste for religion.

I don't want to try to change people's whole belief system, but I'd like it if Scottish people - their brethren & those that reside here - would be united in charge for Scotland's advancement.

Nope never heard that term in my life until just now. I agree with what you say but the fact remains, Celtic is viewed as an "Irish" (I'd say Catholic but I know many Protestant Celtic supporters) club while Rangers is seen mostly as a Protestant/Loyalist club. Therefore to cross those barriers is next to impossible for many people. The funny thing is, when I was younger I used to like Rangers but then I realised what the whole thing was about, I wonder how many other people could say the same?
