Yes that is because the ps2 came out 3 years before Xbox? which also explains why ps2 has more games than the xbox, more better games? no, more crappy games, i can hardly list 10 great games for the ps2 (on ps2 only) out of a shit load, i can easily list 10 fantastic games for the xbox only

the xbox was released in the u.s late 2001 yeah but the console was released much later to the rest of the world, all countries out side north america got the system a year or 2 later

lol @ given credit to games for the success of the ps2, the success of the ps2 was because of the lack of competition at the time and the rediculous hype, selling more consoles does not whatsoever mean thats it is a better system, its all in the hype and popularity of the name.

1 - ps2 came out before xbox which leaves many owners not to go out and buy another gaming system

2 - xbox was microsofts debut console, many if not all had little or no knowledge of the system at all, many gamers already had the ps2 attached to their tv's when the xbox came out so going out and buying another system that they dont know nothing about is not likely.

3 - ps2 had obviously the support of ps1, thats a 5 year advantage of play station gaming around the world over microsoft, and that my friend is where the credit is due to the success of ps2. selling just under 30 million consoles worldwide for a debut console years after the release of the much much more popular ps2 is outstanding.

xbox has 9 of the 20 > ps2 has only 5 (ps2 fanboy: "OMG PS2 is better because it has many more games" and yet the xbox has almost twice as many games among the 20 highest rated games of this year, not to mention that sony released 40% more games this year, go figure

Tekken 5 < DOA Ultimate = Not true, but DOA is funner on Live.
Onimusha 3 < Ninja Gaiden = True.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater < Splinter Cell Chaos theory = True in my opinion.
Gran Turismo 4 < Forza motorsport = Not true, but Forza is a lot more fun because of live. I also liked Sega GT but GT4 was a lot better. PG2 was great too.
Final Fantasy XII < Jade Empire = True, Im not a huge FF fan though, Id take Fable over it.
SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs < Halo 1 = True.
Kingdom Hearts II < Fable = Havent played KH2 so cant say.
Kill Zone < Halo 2 easily better = Fuck, Halo 1 was better than Killzone lol. Killzone was the biggest let down, Im a HUGE FPS fan and I was disappointed as hell. It was supposed to be the Halo killer but wasnt.
