Wow... I hope these are the exact specs.

Cause that would make a killer console... and of course.. would blow away PS3 :p

Looks amazing

Alleged hardware specifics

3 symmetrical cores at 3.2 GHz each

that means its 3.2 ghz in total
No I think it means it exactly what it says, 3 symmertrical cores running at 3.2 GHz each.

What Im impressed about is the memory.

And those specs are pretty much confirmed, we'll see in a couple of days though.

impressive specs but i'm not going to be fooled. I remember ps2;s hardware specs was meant to launch missiles and blah blah.
It all depends on the games, only recently has xbox been making the most out of it's hardware to produce these awesome games coming out. Compare the graphics of Forza motorsport with Project gotham racing 2. Compare splintercell 3 with 1. Compare halo 2 and 1.
All this hardware specs means nothing if the games don't make the most of it. Hopefully they will.
It's said that it would be priced around $600-$700 Aus dollars, cannot wait.

are you mad ? that is not possible

if it were 3.2 ghz each it would be 9+ghz

its 3.2ghz with 3 cpus

3.2ghz x 3cpus = 3.2ghz

all it does is raise the gigaflop

its the same mistake ign.com made

Thats true, but the PS2 being powerful enough to launch missiles, being a super computer, etc etc, was all... well.. lies... oh sorry... "hype." Much like Im sure, based on Sonys track record, the Cell will turn out to be, over hyped.

As for the Xbox's graphics thats true, but that happens in every generation, the last wave of games always uses the hardware the best, thats just the progression of games.

A major problem with the Xbox and Gamecube (i assume) was that a lot of their games were multiplatform games, which means they were designed with the lowest hardware in mind, the PS2. So in reality, certain Xbox games were held back by the PS2's limitations, which will happen to the better system next gen too. Thats why the best looking games were always Xbox only titles (Forza, Halo, DOA, etc).

its just like the DUAL core AMD athlon 64s , each core runs @ the designated ghz so there is 2 procs in one that both run @ 2ghz or w/e amd runs them at.

Each core is a seperate processor.

- 3 symmetrical cores at 3.2 GHz each
- 2 hardware threads per core
- 1 VMX-128 vector unit per core
- 1 MB L2 cache

so yea....anybody catch the MTV show? Looked pretty damn cool i gotta say. In particular the racing game...Project Gotham. Other than that, i'm not that impressed just cuz i didn't see anything that i haven't already seen in pc games. (Doom 3, Half Life 2)

P.S. Perfect Dark was lagging ; /
