Working out before sleeping

Is it good at all? I've heard that it isn't since you'll wake up more tired, but its the only time I have to work out. (btw I don't work out then 5 minutes later go to sleep, its about 2-3 hours before i sleep)

I do pushups just before i go to sleep. It's just harder to fall asleep for me after that.

I was told that if you do sit ups/push ups before going to bed that you won't get any results if you go straight to bed right after. I'm not sure about this tho, if I do work out/exercise late, I do it 2 - 3 hours before sleeping.

This is bs. It doesn't matters when you work out. Some don't like workin out in the evenin, some (like me) can't get goin in the morning so workin out right after gettin up doesn't work for me. There is no official 'best time' to work out, it all depens on your favorite time to push some weights.

Its not good for your body to work out then go right straight to bed. But if your working out then going to bed 3 to 4 hours later, then your alright. you must give your body time to cool off, work out then when your done go eat something light an if you want go take a step outside an cool off in the fresh air, then come back an watch a liitle TV before you go to bed.

alright thanks. I heard that lactic acid that is built up would stay longer since you don't move much in sleep so you wake up more tired.

i didnt hear that it was bad for u, but apparently u get better results if u don work out before bed. I don no, it doesnt rilly make sense to me, but that wut they say

It would seem to me like working out late would be good for growth seeing as how your body is at its anabolic prime when you sleep, but personally I can't do it because I can't sleep if I do.

It is better to work out earlyer in the day becuz
1. sum ppl cant sleep cuz when they work out they get a 2nd wind
2. Ur testosterone levels are highest in the morning and ussally you are strongest at about 4 ish depending on what time u wake up.

but at the end of the day it doesnt matter as long as u get ur meals ect....

hormones barely fluctuate throughout the day when you're awake,and anabolism only really happens when you're asleep.the internal variables are very limited so there is really no difference at all,its only a matter of preference really.some people like to workout early because they feel more energized,while others prefer to workout in the evening because they feel lethargic throughout the rest of the day after an early day workout.

that's what I try to say for days, maybe people listen now as prince mack confirmed it. There is NO STUDY 2 prove that there is a "perfect workout time", it all depens on the person, just lift work out if you feel like doin so, like I said before.....many many many times....

what if i got up at 7 had something to eat 45 mins later worked out then had something to eat for post workout then went to sleep straight after for few hour then got up did 17 one handed push ups and a star jump then back to sleep again???? lol

yeah i dont think it makes a difference long as ya have something to eat, now if ya worked out and fell asleep without nothing to eat your body would use it own resources to feed right? and lose muscle?

It's not that simple, that's all I can say. If you don't provide enough energy over a longer period of time, you'll lose weight - but over all this topic isn't as simple people think. I'd suggest not to worry too much, jsut work out hard, eat as much as you need, period. If you want to really get into this, you might have to do some research, pick up a book, a couple of questions on a msg board won't provide all the information you need. It's not only when you eat, it's what you eat too, etc etc.... but like I said, if you don't lift like everyday, if you just try to be in good shape, don't worry too much, just work out, that is after all, what it's all about.

that would be ok as long as you always eat before sleep. you know,sleeping multiple short periods of time is more beneficial than sleeping straight through a longer period. bodybuilder jay cutler(2nd place in the my olympia) sleeps for 2 hours,wakes up and eats,sleeps 2 hours, wakes up and eats,sleeps 2 hours wakes up and eats then sleeps another 2 hours and wakes up and eats.im pretty sure it works
