Which US state was the last to free their slaves?

#1
Just a question that my girl and I were debating about earlier. I said it was Virginia and she said it was Texas and i tried searching online for it but i couldn't get a direct asnwer. So if anybody here knows with proven facts to back it up i would appreciate it if you could speak up.

This proves that there has been no more niggers in this world since 1865, and that people should stop using that term.
if to you Nigger and Slavery are hand in hand, then you should know tehre is still slavery going on in the world.

Obviously every state in the Confederacy still hadn't freed their slaves by the end of the Civil War (for all intents and purposes, April 1865).

New Jersey obviously freed their slaves before the 19th century in compliance with the Constitution.

WTF?

There were never Niggers in the United States, there were simply people traded into a world where they didn't belong and didn't want to be. There were people forced to give up their languages and heritage. There were people stripped of their families and beliefs. The people traded into slavery were many things, "Niggers" not being one of them :(
