Just a question that my girl and I were debating about earlier. I said it was Virginia and she said it was Texas and i tried searching online for it but i couldn't get a direct asnwer. So if anybody here knows with proven facts to back it up i would appreciate it if you could speak up.
the last state that i could find that abolished slavery before the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that abolished all slavery in the United States was Tennessee on Feb 22 1865
i already tried to google it last night...and i read that piece of info already...and i almost believed it was New Jersey until i read somewhere else that Texas abloshied slavery in 1865...that's why i said in my orignal post that i couldn't fing a direct answer...i got so many different dates that i don't know what to believe anymore
There were never Niggers in the United States, there were simply people traded into a world where they didn't belong and didn't want to be. There were people forced to give up their languages and heritage. There were people stripped of their families and beliefs. The people traded into slavery were many things, "Niggers" not being one of them
