All groups are pretty tough and well balanced. It's going to be interesting. I'll probably attend Heerenveen's home games, and I'm hoping with all my might they get AC at home. That'd be awesome.
^^i dunno. Standard Liege are a good side. Sampdoria will do well to beat them. Partizan will be decent as well.
and id fancy Galatasary to come through ahead of Hertha Berlin. Hertha Berlin beat Irish league side St Pats 2-0 on aggregate in the last round but St Pats were extremely unlucky. They missed a load of good chances especially in the second leg.Hertha didnt look a whole lot. The irish sides put up a good showing this year. The Champions Drogheda United should have beaten Dinamo Kiev in the Champions League qualifiers.
I suppose with some of the players that Sampdoria have, they should be beating those teams, but they have started very poorly this season. they havent won a game in the serie a yet. There is talks of Cassano joining City now.
It also depends how seriously the Italians take this competition. The likes of Palermo and Empoli in the past put out a bunch of 16 year olds. They kinda turn their nose up at the UEFA cup.
^^Have only been to League games. Its very hard to get tickets for their champions league games. i will have to try to get tickets for one someday though.
Yeah that's imo a bit of a downside to the great commercialization of football. You can't just "go to a game" anymore. You need club memberships and a whole host of other administration. That's the charm of the First Division (we call the highest division "Honour League". Don't ask why ) here. At most clubs you can just still buy a ticket at the gate.
