Ahh, he was 'The Bull' before he was 'The Rat'.....don't hate on him for saving his life.

I have ultimate admiration loyalty but when those who you would die for, are willing to betray you, it's every man for themselves.

I don't know how aware of the situation you are, but Gotti was caught on an FBI bug saying he killed a few people. That's all they had was that tape. They had no witnesses, no evidence, nothing else. The case was at best circumstantial. If it weren't for Gravano, they could have very easily gotten off considering the lawyers Gotti would be able to buy.

Sammy was a coward and a rat. That's the first rule about that life.. you don't snitch. You stay quiet and humble, and take your punishment if it comes to you. Sammy snitched to guarantee himself he wouldn't go to jail, then went public after being in the WPA for some time to make money off it all.

Sammy Gravano was not some great mob figure like HBO's "Gotti" would lead you to believe. He gets credit for a lot of things (hits) he didn't do.

Oh, irrespective of what the circumastances actually were, it has been said that Gravano was informed - possibly by the FBI - that he was going to be taken out.

For this reason, & this reason alone, I cannot hate on him. I can look down on him for being played but that is all.

Snitching is something I have commented on in a few threads now . I, on the whole, despise it but there are certain situations where I think it is justified.

One of these situations are where you believe you have been betrayed.

No way, the FBI might've told Sammy he was going to be taken out? Ya don't say?

Of course they did. Sammy had been played from the start. They played him against Gotti and scared him, because they knew he could be rattled.

I remember reading somewhere about one time when the cops came to arrest Gotti (not the incident in question) and Gravano was reported to get real pail and looked like he was about to piss himself. One of the cops made a comment about how they would be able to get to Gotti through him.

Never said John was smart

Gotti was too in love with himself to be successful like Gambino was. He didn't think he could be touched no matter what he did. Not humble enough.
