The WWE Thread

It seems like they are just grabbing wrestlers who aren't doing much and throwing them together, hoping something will stick a la Kane and RVD, or, going farther back, Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart (A great team, although Debra's "puppies" got them over with the fans) The formula works sometimes, but it works much better when there are several real teams to compete with. Recently I've been watching some of the matches from the Hardy Boyz/Dudley Boys/Edge & Christian feuds, now those were great matches, especially the ladder and TLC matches. I miss those days.

So who watched SmackDown last night? I'm seriously wondering what Vince has been smoking lately. First off, the Guerrero/Mysterio angle. I knew that whatever the secret was, it would probably be lame, but this is just straight up ridiculous. Eddie is Dominic's father? Come on now. I'm not even sure anymore if I'm watching wrestling or Days Of Our Lives. From what I'm seeing, and hearing, Stephanie McMahon wants to take the show as far away from wrestling as possible. I know lots of people consider wrestling to be a man's soap opera, but we never really wanted it to actually become a soap opera.

And what's with having JBL win the number 1 contender's match? So vince complains abot the Batista/JBL match, but then decides, hey let's do it again! My only hope is that they make it a 3 way with Brock Lesnar and he kills them both.

But now on to better news: It seems like Bret Hart and WWE are getting closer to bringing Hart back to tv. WWE is releasing Screwed: The Bret Hart Story in the fall, and they want Hart on tv to promote it. The word is, however, that WWE is doing everything they can to get a deal done, but Bret hasn't been satisfied with the terms they are offering. Here's hoping they can get a deal done soon. Even though he won't be wrestling (Thanks a lot Goldberg, also the stroke he suffered put an end to any hopes of making a wrestling comeback) I'd still love to see him again. Also, Chris Jericho signed a contract extension with WWE, quashing rumors that he may leave the company after SS to focus on his band, Fozzy. However, he's got a number of gigs in Europe in the fall, so don't expect to see him too much after Summerslam

The 'secret' was pretty obvious, and I agree it's a really dumb storyline. I didn't see it, but am I right in saying Eddie said Rey couldn't have kids? What about his daughter Aaliyah, whose name he has prominently tattooed on his arm?

Two weeks, I heard. Kinda spoils the title match at SummerSlam. My money's on a Triple H post-match run in, but I'd mark a lot more for a post-match Lesnar run in.

Yeah, he signed a short term contract, but he says he'll sign a new full length contract soon. It seems like WWE wants to give away match outcomes, why would they report this on their own website? It makes it clear that he's not going to win at SS. They always do these kinds of things. My question about Brock Lesnar is, which show is he gonna be on, SmackDown or Raw? That'll help determine what he's gonna do at Summerslam. I still believe though that they are going to put him in a match, there'd be no real surprise with a run in. Triple H is a more likely candidate for a run in, but I wouldn't be surprised if he runs in on Batista's match and cause him to lose the title. Hopefully though they change the match before Summerslam, I can't stand the idea of Batista/JBL 2, it's making me sick thinking about it. Still hoping for Brock to get thrown in there somewhere.

well i think brock would be better on smackdown. raw already has all the big names,so smackdown needs brock. Plus, when brock was on smackdown , it was pretty damn interesting.

I agree with you,I think Brock will be in a match at Summerslam, having him running in would be gay and not exciting at all.

Smackdown does need Brock, and I think WWE will recognise the potential of Batista vs. Lesnar. Plus, Lesnar was on Smackdown when he left. Makes sense to put him there.

Although who really knows with WWE these days, they have a tendency to do the opposite of what would be the right thing. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Raw, but SD needs as many big names as they can get, if for nothing else than to push JBL out of the title picture.

Oh My God. I honestly cannot believe this. I've just seen a picture of Jillian Hall from her debut on Smackdown and a description of her gimmick. I honestly think this is the worst gimmick in WWE history, worse even than the Gobbledy Gooker.

If you haven't seen it, her gimmick is that she's working for MNM as their "publicist". Sounds decent, right? Associate her with a hot tag team and she might get over, right? The second part of her gimmick is that SHE HAS A HUGE GROWTH ON THE SIDE OF HER FACE. I am speechless. I heard about the possibility of her doing a "Mole" gimmick but I assumed they meant she'd be working as a spy or something, someone leaking information to other wrestlers or to RAW or whatever.

This is just...how the fuck do the WWE creative team get this on TV? They surely can't have all agreed that this was a good gimmick?

What's really funny is that it doesn't look real at all, it just looks like they glued some weird looking thing on her face. Man I told you, Vince is on crack or something, how could he have actually approved of this?

Lesnar Will Be On SD Due To The Fact That HHH is On Raw. That The Two Dont Care For Each Other. HHH Had Harsh Words For Lesnar When He Jumped For A Career In The NFL.

Remember The Confrontation Those Two Had, That Was Right At The Time Bischoff Started Working for the WWE, Him An Steph As GM'S. Lesnar An Heyman Walked Right Around Eric an Got In the Limo with Steph.

In The Long Run You Could See HHH/Lesnar As A Main Eventer At WM 22 or 23.

It's still not as bad as the necrophilia angle they did a while back with HHH and Kane, but this definitely goes on the list of worst angles ever. This had to have been that Nickelodeon writer's idea, it really sounds like stupid kid shit to me

i wonder what vince's special announcement is tonight.

could it be he's gonna introduce brock

or maybe say hes fed up with hardy that hes gonna put him in a match with edge at summerslam

maybe announce bret hart coming back being a special guest referee between the hogan michaels match?

dunno what do u guys think. this is all i can think of

So now Matt Hardy has "officially" been signed. You know, bigmack I'm starting to believe what you said a while back, maybe the whole Hardy/Amy Dumas/Adam Copeland was all a storyline to fool the internet "smart marks" If there was really this kind of heat between the 2 of them, I don't think Vince would put them in the ring for a match, they'd probably really try to kill each other. And how about Tatanka last night? I was marking out over that, I used to love that guy. That was fuckin funny, and for once, it was sonmething I didn't see coming. A pretty decent Raw overall, but this Summerslam is looking pretty weak, especially the main events. The one that I was looking forward to, Jericho Vs. Cena, is ruined by the fact we already know Jericho isn't gonna win, and no one wants to see JBL/Batista 2. Although I won't be surprised if they bring Lesnar in tonight on Smackdown, like they did with Hardy. Hopefully if they do, they'll give him a match

Yeah SummerSlam Will Be Weak. Im Looking Forward to HBK/Hogan Though.

Whats The Deal With Rob Conway? That Is By Far The Worst Entrance Music Ever In The WWE. If Not the Worst In 10 Years.
Rob's Got The Gay Village People Look To Him.

Just Curious To see If Raw's Rating Go's Up This Week. They Sink To An All Time Low Having Rob Schenider. (I Know He Was Promoting The Movie). He Was Funny During The Queen Of The Mountain Segment.

Laughed My Ass Off During HBK's Segment Making Fun Of Hogan. That Was Too Funny Doing Hogan's Poses. Then Ya See Him (OH MY BACK,CRAMPS). :D . Well Ya Know Something BROTHER.

Yeah, HBK mocking Hogan was kinda funny, but the match is way too overhyped. Hogan can only do about 5 moves, how the hell is he gonna put on a great match with anyone, nevermind HBK? As long as they don't make Shawn lay down for Hogan then it won't be too bad, but it's nowhere near a dream match

Hogan is too slow. He can barely move,Did you see him at wrestlermania when he came in beat up hassan and was walking away, he could barely walk and he looked like he was hurt lmao.

And yea i still hold my theory about the whole matt hardy being a work from the very beginning.

LMAO BREAKING NEWS
