The Holocaust in China

Before World War 2 China was in a civil war, but with the rising tension with Japan the country united to fight off the soon to be Japanese aggression. In 1937 Japan invades China, but with China weak from internal war the Japanese invade easily. After capturing Shanghai (the capital) in November 1937, Japan launched an attack on the new capital of China, Nanking.

On December 13 1937 Nanking was captured and japanese soldiers cruelty began. Young chinese men were herded out to the outer city areas and mowed down by machine guns, used as bayonet practice and soaked in gasoline and burned alive. Japanese soldiers had "killing competitions", where soldiers had contests to see how many they can kill. 50,000 japanese soldiers participated, reports of some killing over 100 and 1 captain killing over 300 chinese. By the end of the Rape of Nanking 260,000 to 350,000 chinese has been killed, between 20,000 to 80,000 chinese women were raped, murdered and tortured. There are stories in which Japanese soldiers being exhausted at the end of the day from beheading chinese children. So brutal were the atrocities that Nazis in China were shocked. John Rabe, a german businessman who led a local Nazi party, joined a group of foreigners (which include jews who were given visas to escape nazi camps)to try and save the Chinese from slaughter. He and other foreigners saved 250,000 people. The massacre lasted 6 weeks.

By the end of the war, between 10 to 30 million Chinese had died from slaughter, forced starvation, medical experiments and germ warfare which included testing Plague bombs. Japan has not aknowledged or apologized for the atrocities to this day, and do not teach it in schools unlike the Germans who by law have to teach about the holocaust. It may not have been as systematic as the holocaust in Europe, but the brutality was just as horrific.

bunch of sites, look up Rape of Nanking or Japan War Crimes on yahoo and you'll get pics and a lot of first-encounter tales. Its sad that its not even reconized in the west. Also i posted about the Jews saved in China, Israel reconized Mr. Ho Fengshan, a Chinese diplomat for giving Visas to Jews so they could escape.

Yeah, I've heard of this before.

I can't comment on whether this shit should be taught in either Chinese or Japanese schools, I don't really know how their culture works & for a lot of people it may be better to let sleepings dogs lie.

Btw, Chinese & Japanese have both invaded weaker countries in their time & I'm sure both have used similar techniques to kill their enemies.

Still fucked up from a humanitarian point of view

Yup, know about this very well. And it is in the history books. An American journalist who worked in Shanghai at the time, came into possession of photographs of mass executions of boys by beheading, of rapes of women by Japanese soldiers, and of "slaughter pits" in which soldiers were encouraged to develop their killer-instinct by bayoneting tied prisoners. When published in the American magazine Look, they caused worldwide condemnation, and the Japanese commander was recalled to Tokyo.

The odd thing was that these photographs were taken by the Japanese themselves; for they regarded the atrocities as simply acts of revenge.

Propaganda by the japanese emperor at the time was said that Japan were the true rulers of China. Also theres a diary that was written during the Rape of Nanking that is like Anne Franks diary.

Yeah, I actually learned this in school. Japan's policies towards China led to the U.S. refusing to supply Japan with necessary goods which led to Japan attacking Pearl Harbor.

The US refused to support or acknowledge Japanese imperialism, and the Axis success in Europe from 1939-41 emboldened Japan to attack European colonies in the Pacific since they were busy fighting Hitler for their survival.

When Japan became more agressive and more assertive regarding their imperialism, including repeated threats against the American held Phillipines, that's when the United States refused to send more oil to them.

Anyway, this stuff is taught in classes, at least at a college level. And to be honest, the war between China and Japan started over 5 years before World War II, so it's not even really a part of that war anyway.

Japan however refuses to acknowledge the Rape of Nanking in their textbooks to this day.

Just wondering, does the culture & rape of Natve Americans get taught in America?

And I mean, really taught.

I'm pretty sure the Americans manipulate what happened in WW2 as well. Whenever I hear Americans talk about they're always on some 'we won it' shit, which is, as if you didn't know, utter bullshit.

They didn't teach this (or any pacific theatre things except for hiroshima and nagasaki) in highschool, only what happened in european theatre.

And to be honest, the war between China and Japan started over 5 years before World War II, so it's not even really a part of that war anyway.
Some historians say that World War 2 started in 1936 when Japan attacked asian countries, even Chiang Kai-Shek was part of the Big Four allied commands (included Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt). Saying they're not part of World War 2, might as well call it the European War then.

It basically was until America got scared & joined in so as to have allies & not have to write off the loans they gave to Britain, France etc.

Bloodsucking motherfuckers......
