He had a liver transplant after being treated for pancreatic cancer. Most ppl don't even survive pancreatic cancer, even though his was the less severe kind. Then liver transplant recipients must take immunosuppressive medicines for life, thus making them more vulnerable to cancers and infections of all kinds. It's amazing he's lasted this long.

He has the 'less severe" kind? There's the one where you can remove the pancreas because it hasn't spread, resectable, there's one where you can't remove it because it has spread, usually towards the liver. And there's one more.

So you're saying it spread to the liver, hence why it had to be removed, but it's less severe? I think the less severe one would be the one that would allow the pancreas to be removed as well. The severe one is the one where it spreads, which it seems it did, and that also to the liver, and is therefore hard to operate on, if at all.

I'm missing something here. What is it?
