Star signs

Star signs, and the myths about them, are like poetry.

Each planet/constellation, has a certain characteristic, for example: Mercury - is the communicator of the Gods, because it is closest to the sun. Gemini - a split personality - on account of them being twins.

I believe in Astrology because it would be boring to remember planets just by their name/appearence etc. They have a whole story, like some kind of star wars.

the "star signs" are based off an old greek calandar...so what ever sign you with you are on our roman calandar...its months off what you actually are ...

eh.. why would you ask this question? you know alotta people aren't gonna believe it.. they are most likely the same type of folks who thought the world was flat back in the day because there was no evidence to prove it was round.....

Intelligent people have known the earth was spherical since the 1st century. In fact, most of the opposition to the idea came from the Church who didn't think it fit in with their idea of how the earth was populated.

I'd rather doubt something that was unproven but correct than blindly believe in something that was unproven and wrong.

In fact, intelligent, ancient Greeks knew the world was round, esp astronomers. Pythagoras reasoned it was round from the round shape of lunar eclipses. Aristotle noted the shape of the earth's shadow on the moon during an eclipse. He also took into account the way the horizon worked, that you can see the top of ships that have left port longer than the lower part. He wrote all about this subject in "On the Heavens."

Aristarchus, in about 270 BC, even went so far as to measure the relative sizes of the earth and moon from the curvature of the moon and the curvature of the earth's shadow on the moon.

Eratosthenes in about 235 BC calculated the earth's circumference to 25,000 miles and referred to the earth as a globe.

And so on.

Egyptians probably knew the world was round, as well as the Chinese. The Mayans knew.

However, any kind of reference to the shape of the earth in the Bible suggests that it's flat. I guess God was a second-rate astronomer. Or else he just wanted to fool his chosen people. And that's the main reason the Church's leaders rejected the round earth. It contradicted God's word.

You know why most Europeans before Columbus didn't know the world was round? Because they didn't care. Anyone during that time who did care (mariners, astronomers, Columbus), knew the world was round. Between 1200 and 1492, there are so many references to a round earth that it would fill many pages.

most horoscope you'll see these days are bs. i think it is a science, but not an exact science. it's not like maths. but most horoscope you'll read anywhere these days in newspapers and magazines is fake.

No I don't really believe in those star signs. It's like if someone acts the way he's supposed 2 according to his star sign it's a proof that it's all real, if someone doesn't they say it's an exception.

I never read them. And I used to believe they were shit. But there's definately something there. I don't belive that luck comes from certain placements of the moon. And I don't belive astronomers can tell your future from the stars. But I have seen a lot of people who exactly match their signs.

I am a Virgo and I always tend to get on well with fellow virgos.

because the "star signs" are based off an old greek calandar....im pretty sure the star signs (as they are today) are three months off what they actually should be...as in whatever star sign you think you are, its actually three months earlier...
