^^ they state it as unlimited, but when you get to 80% they send you a text message to notify you. im assuming it is around 1GB-2GB monthly usage. and going over the allowance is considered as not complying with the fair usage policy that t-mobile has in places, which ultimately leads to them slowing your connection speed down during the daytime when people use it most. in the middle of the night remainds the same, when most likely you will be asleep.

Found 2 negative points for the Galaxy S.

Connecting to the phone via usb cable is impossible. Shitty samsung. Using a kies software, which is poor. But I can't connect at all now. Just stuck in an endless MTP loop. All is not lost though, I use the websharing app instead, now.

Predictive Text. Absolutely awful.

Root is piss easy for the Galaxy S.

[REF] Howto root your SGS I9000 the easy way (keep all your data) (all firmwares) - xda-developers

Do it.

Ideally what you guys are gonna want to do, is root and flash a Vanilla Android ROM. Ie, Android the way Google intends it. The version of Android you have, has Samsung's "TouchWiz" UI on it. Basically bloatware. HTC, Motorola, and Sony are all guilty of making lame UI's for Android as well and bloating it up, but regular Android is the way to go.

However I don't think there are any vanilla Android ROM's for the Galaxy S just yet.

Keep your eye on this forum - if you want to start delving deeper into Android, this will be your best friend:

What is the name of the different UIs released by manufacturers?

HTC has Sense
Motorola has MOTOBLUR
What do LG and Samsung have?

what is the sound quality like, i.e. for music or ringtones? because i cant hear my G1 ring half of the times due to the crappy little speaker on the back of the phone. a certain downgrade from the Nokia N95 i had, which had amazing surround sound output.

im so desperate to get the galaxy pro at the moment that i even keep checking different sites for coming soon pictures. i still have til christmas day to upgrade, november to downgrade. just wondering when it'll get android 2.2 and eventually android 3.0.

apparently french providers are planning for the galaxy s to have android 2.2 in september.

/\ Galaxy S Pro just cleared through the FCC in the US, so I imagine a US release (and likely international also) is not too far off.
