Would you have him back in charge ?? Do you think his type of regime was what the country needs ?
Dont get me wrong i am not a supporter nor a sympathizer of Saddam Hussien, he definately did his evil to Iraq. At one point Iraq was considered one of the top safest and most beautiful places to live, prior to Saddam BUT i really believe Iraq an the Iraqi people were better off with him an his regime then what they have now, but i also keep in mind what most people dont really think about, the middle east is a hard place to be a leader of any sort, you have to be hard an sometimes ruthless or you will be over run an your country will surcome to anarchy such as Iraq is now. As a Muslim a sunni muslim at that, it sickens me to see what has become of the country, sunni's blowing up Shia holy sites, shia's blowing up Sunni holy sites, its disgusting! People say what you will but this wasnt happening when Saddam was in power, the freedom an liberty Bush promised is a far cry from what is presnt day Iraq. An yes its too late to re install the old regime an we all know that wont happen anyway, but we can say what if, the reason it wouldnt work, Iraqs to divided now, the military along with its means to defend itself has been crushed, obliterated, no way to quell or surpress the civil unrest that now plagues the country. Civil war is enevitable, its gonna happen an it'll stay in that state for some time, i believe the current puppet government will be overthrown an someone worse then Saddam will suceed in taking power, like i said before, prior to that the u.s. seeing the "conflict" in Iraq as hopeless an a money pit, will leave just as they did with Vietnam, an the Iraqi people both Shia an Sunni will suffer for many years, i believe worse then under Saddams Regime. All this cause a oil hungery Bush played the american peoples hearts with his 9/11 rethoric. Allah bless the Iraqis an bring them peace an stability soon.
