Russia responsible for Tsunami

Ok I dont expect a lot of you to believe me, but here goes anyway.

As you may know, I work in the petroleum exploration industry for a company that is contracted out by various oil companies in the world. Currently we are working with one of the top three companies out there, and two of the top 5. I legally can not give any names, nor can I discuss where we are exploring.

Recently while on a trip to a very powerful middle eastern nation, which I dont think I should name due to the context of this news, my boss had dinner with some very high ranking officials.

Now, these high ranking military officials told my boss an interesting story. As far as they are concerned, or to the best of their belief, they are saying that Russia set of a chain of underwater explosions that triggered the Tsunami as a means to destroy several US Army bases located on the coast line that was hit. This would explain why America was so hesitant to lend financial aid to these countries, as they were the ones targeted. Apparently, this was retaliation to what Russia believes is America's responsibility of sinking their sub two years ago. And if thats true, it explains why Russia didnt want to accept American aid, because if they believed America was responsible, it would be an extra slap in the face.

Now this is all very far fetched I know, but it does kind of make sense, and if the source wasnt so strong I would laugh it off. But there are geological (remember what line of work Im in) factors that support it. The wave even hit Dubai which is in a gulf.

Well anyway, take it or leave it. Sorry I cant give any names, but hey, if I was to make this up I could just as easilly make up some names to go along with it. But this is what I have been told and this is what I am passing on to you.

Peace.

A few years ago a BBC documentary proved the Kursk was not sank by a U.S. nuclear submarine (as was once falsely thought) but was the unfortunate victim of a chemical explosion. As of right now I cannot remember the chemicals name perhaps someone else will know. I'm sorry Rukas but this is too far-fetched to even consider being true.

so russia killed 300.000+ innocent people, because US fucked up a russian sub???
So Germany killed 3000 jews because a french jew killed a germany ambassador. Or USA killed thousands of indians because of the actions of few. It's politics. It's fucked up.

Even if the conspiracy theory was true, the Russians weren't killing Americans. They were killing Indonesians, Sri Lankans, Thais etc.

So the theory is that the Russians triggered a mammoth earthquake and tsunami that wiped out 300,000 Asians because they were upset about the sinking of the Kursk with a few dozen Russians. All to take out a few American bases in Indonesia? Why not take out the American bases in places like Germany and Europe that are within the Russian sphere of influence?

Harder to target without generating suspicion perhaps.... I mean, I dunno if I believe this stuff... I think Russia, like you said, has "spheres of influence" which, if it felt the need to retaliate, could be utilised in a more direct and certainly less merciless fashion, rather than subjecting an immeasurable number of unconnected people to death and destruction. Unless of course, the consequences had been entirely miscalculated.

Read what I said again. I didnt mention any Euro country.

And Dubai did get hit, not huge, but the wave made it there.

Well if there is any doubt as to the cause of the tsunami, we'll know about it soon....

"Ship probes ocean quake epicenter."

BANDA ACEH, Indonesia (AP) -- A British naval ship surveyed the ocean floor near the epicenter of the quake that triggered killer waves across Asia, checking the stability of tectonic plates as countries consider a tsunami-warning system for the region.
.........

"About 90 miles west of Sumatra, the British naval vessel HMS Scott was on the second day of a six-day mission of high-tech sonar readings to assess the stability of the region's tectonic plates -- moving pieces of the Earth's crust.
The ship was "re-mapping the sea bottom, where we believe there's been quite a lot of shift" since the magnitude-9 quake that triggered the tsunami on Dec. 26, said Wing Cmdr. John Turner, the British defense attache in Aceh.

Indonesia was expected to examine the data as it and other Indian Ocean nations consider setting up a tsunami early warning system.

Several international conferences discussed the issue in recent weeks, but there has been no consensus on where a full-fledged system would be based. The United Nations has said it is developing an interim one.

Not waiting for either, Malaysia announced over the weekend that it was setting up its own warning system by the end of the year at a cost of $5 million. American and Japanese maritime experts will help install it, the Bernama national news agency said."

ummm im pretty sure an earthquake triggered the tsunami and not bombs, because the earthquake showed up on the richter scale but no warning could get out to the people in time.

If it had been a bomb i dont think bombs show up on richter scales.... to the best of my knowledge

^ the Richter Scale is a measurement determined by the recording of the intensity and magnitude of seismic waves. Seismic waves may be caused by earthquakes or explosions.

Hey you are from Adelaide...me too!

I realize you were trying to make a point but, just to make sure you know, your comparisons aren't very good.

There was a lot more to the cause of the Holocaust than a single murder.

USA was killing Native Americans regardless of cooperation.

Ha, ridiculous. Do people realize how horribly much conventional explosions you'd need to create such an earthquake? The Russians would've needed to lug up about 5 freighters of TNT if they wanted to do this.

Sorry Rukas, this is way too far fetched.
