Rooney injured

This has fucked up my summer, I was looking forward to Rooney ripping other Nations defenses apart. I sincerely hope he makes it, there's still a possibility he'll be fit in time. It's rumoured Owen may also miss part of the World Cup. With Owen and Rooney out we'll be lucky to get past the group stage.

According to the Man Utd *spits* Website, Rooney will be out for 6 weeks, however Skysports said earlier today that it would be nearer 9!!

Also according to the Newcastle Utd *spits* Webpage, Owen is fine and what he experienced was normal.

England for the World Cup and Arsenal for the Champions League!!

Bad news for sure but i think we should be able to handle it, at least now Sven's got plenty of time to think up a plan B (that's not Crouch, who is now plan C). I'd personally go for....

---------------Robbo-----------------

Neville----Rio---------Terry-------A. Cole

Beckham--Lampard---Carrick------J.Cole

----------------Gerrard---------------

----------------Owen--------------

If we can't base the team around Rooney then Gerrard is next best, put Carrick in the midfield and give the other 5 players licence to get forward and attack. Gerrard, Lampard and Cole have got nearly 50 goals between em this season, Owen guarantees goals and Beckham is one of Real Madrid'sbetter players this season. Havin Carrick also gives us more steel in midfield and this way we don't have the indecision over who can attack between Lamps and Gerrard.

Don't worry, we can still win it. It could be worse after all, we could be relying on Robert Huth! *points at BeReal and laughs* :D:p

i think we are screwed. gerrard is a good player but he plays crap when he plays for england, beckham isn't that good any more and crouch is just a useless giraffe!

Gerrard does play poor for England, but only cos we never play him with a holding midfielder.

Beckham is still a class act, despite whats the tabloids say. He's Real Madrids best player this season and they are going to finish 2nd in arguably the best league in the world, doesn't sound like a player who isn't very good anymore.

Crouch is very average but will be good as an impact sub, so long as that is all.

beckham may play well for madrid, but he is like gerrard when he plays for england he is just lazy and doesn't play to the best of his ability. also he makes stupid mistakes.

rooney won't be fit and i know it is un fair to say that without him england are screwed but i think we are. we will miss him especially when we play sweden

To say Beckham is lazy is totally untrue, his biggest asset is his workrate. (Greece for example)

Beckham? Lazy? I'd say that's the one criticsm no-one could level at him. The main problem with him is that when he is ineffective Eriksson refuses to take him off and he does tend to drift to central positions thus leaving it overcrowded in midfield. I don't think Gerrard's lazy for us either, he doesn't perform but that is more due to the formation we use and the fact that he is captain at Liverpool and drives them forward.

Methinks you have been reading the Sun/News of the World too much!

What's the story on Ledley King? Is he still injured, is he expected to make the World Cup? If so i'd go for:

------------Robinson---------------

Neville--Ferdinand--Terry--A.Cole

--------------King-------------------

Beckham--Lampard--Gerrard--J.Cole

-------------Owen------------------

This formation can offer Lampard and Gerrard the freedom to go attack whilst King can plug the gap while they attack. King really impressed me against France at Euro 2004, i'd prefer to play him over Carrick.

On another note do you all think it's worth taking Rooney to Germany?? I mean part of me wants him to play regardless of his fitness level, but at the same time playing him when he's not ready could be disastrous, especially for Man Utd next season.

Beckham has been poor in the last few games for England. True.

But.... He is still 1 of our best players. And his link up play with Owen is quality.

Rooney was gonna take the World Cup by Storm.

If Sven didn't play a 442 all the great midfielders we have would be used better Sven fucks up Steven Gerrard. Look at all the goals he got for Liverpool this season.

But.................
