good bye Man U, welcome Yank U

the Red Army and the Red Devils warned the new owner Glazer that they will "rock" him...that in a bad way.

He said, in a dumbass/american-way answer "those warnings give me confidence"

excuse me sir, but you do not know what the European football fans are able to do, especially when they are organized (and by that i mean some groups like Red Army or the Red D's)

anyways...he is definitly not a new Abrahimovich, because the chelsea owner had to wash his dirty money somehow, while mr. Glazer is here to make money...

it's possible that the season tickets will be more expensive for the next season

but i've heard that most of organized supporters are not going to buy season tickets next year.

We truely have seen the end of Man Utd's dominance.

Rooney, Ronaldo and Rio will be at Chelsea or Real in a season or two. Ferguson will leave sometime this season.

to be honest, nobody gives a shit about this. united fans going on about a boycott season tickets, behave, united will allways sell season tickets, no matter where people come from. i even heard united "fans" are going 2 stop buying replica shirts. like that will make a difference, especially with uniteds overseas fanbase. its looking like united are the victims of there own success.

the bigest majority(more like 95%) of non-united fans are laughing at whats going on, beacause, finaly, you are paying the price of many a year of arrrogance.

The only downside 2 this is that united might be out of business in a few years, and 2 lose ANY english club is a bastard.

you have a weak understanding of economics. To lose out on selling even 5000 shirts a year is going to have a significant impact on a co-operation that is trying to pay £126,000 in interest alone to a bank. Added to this, we don't exactly know how many people aren't going to renew there season tickets. Added to this, Glazers policies are gambling on Man U winning trophies. Winning the champions league nets a club up to £30 mill. If Man U fail to win anything, they will have to start selling Players and the stadium and other assests. added to this many fans are vowing not to renew their subscription to MUTV and other fan clubs.
Glazer has put it in £500 mill debt. Leeds were in £100 mill debt. you know how much the interest alone is. its just too big a gamble.

edit* 3000 people cancelled MUTV just on saturday.

If Ferguson wasn't so greedy this wouldn't have happened. You know the shares were only sold to Glazer as revenge for Ferguson taking Magnier and Mcmanus to Court over stud rights to his horse. A horse that they gave him 50% ownership for free, as they thought they were mates. So the Rock of Gibraltar is the reason Man Utd are in trouble.

Magnier and McManus were encouraged to sell by Dermot Desmond, who sold his shares in United to Glazer. Why? Because Desmond is a Celtic shareholder and Fergie took Liam Miller from Celtic on a free.

Terrible day for football when some yanky fuck can come in and take over the biggest club in the world, just pray and hope that Shareholders Utd can come up with an alternative solution.

Well I don't think Glazer is going to control absolutely every aspect of the club, so he can't really make the same mistakes Disney did. Disney messed up because they were ethnocentric, they tried to run Disney in France like they did Disney in Florida. There's not as big as chasm in culture between the UK and the US. Besides, I doubt Glazer will have Fergie (or whoever the manager is) wearing a cowboy hat and I doubt he'll have cheerleaders on at half time (though now that I'm typing that...oh God, I can just see that happening... :()

there is already cheerleaders in some football games...man cheerleaders have to be the biggest waste of money in the business of sports! And I don'T think that Glazer is ethnocentric, but i wonder if he's going to run a football club as he is running a football team

Maaaaaan - no.

Yeah, Desmond, Magnier & McManus are all chums - & Desmond was furious at Ferguson - but really, what kind of idiot would make an important financial decision over pettiness ? (And don't say an Irishman :D )

And I don't think it was 'revenge' for the Rock of Gibraltar either. Sure, they might have been a little happier knowing they were leaving Ferguson up shit's creek but I'm sure the £70M (or whatever it was) profit made them a sight happier.

It's a combination of the two.

You mean the three.

Desmond, the horse & the fat profit.

The first two, imo, are of less importance than the profit.

And Pittsey, I think they still might have, but I agree, the scenario would be very diffrerent. Magnier & McManus would've had ties with the club through Ferguson but when they fell out, ties with Man U ceased to exist. (Even though Magnier is a 'fan').
