Racism in European football (soccer)

Paolo Di Canio is an idiot. When he was young he stabbed his own brother with a fork. He said: "I loved to hear him scream and see him run around like crazy".
And he says he ain't a Nazi, he calls it "the roman salute". To be honest: I don't see the difference and there ain't no differance if you ask me. He just tries to avoid getting banned for it.

It does still go on in the UK, just not as prevalently. Certain clubs have reputations. You still get some fans in the terraces making anti-Semetic remarks about Spurs.
We got that sort of thing here too. Fans of Feyenoord, FC Utrecht and ADO Den haag make certain noices when their team plays against Ajax. Ajax was founded by jews and in the '90's we had a Jewish chairman. They make noises like "Ssssssssssssss" what should remind peolpe of the German gas-chambers, really sick. A lot of times people of the Dutch footbaal association tried to stop this, but it don't seem to help.
It's like this so called fans are nazi's or whatever, they want to show they hate Ajax......

Atletico Madrid is Spain's SS Lazio... It was Franco's club.
No that was Real Madrid. Barcelona signed ferenc Puskas. When he arrived at hte Madrid airport to fly to Barcelona Franco made him stay and decided he had to play for Real.

On the flip-side to all this, I've just read a message posted on another board complaining about the "re-unified Nazi Germany" getting the World Cup so close to D-Day. Lovely.

the swastika has greek originals, right?
It has lots of origins. It's a pretty basic symbol, so it's not surprising that lots of different cultures used it, in various ways.

Yea.Some if not all part of it has to do with politics. This hate is because countries don't like each other because of history thats been going on with them.Georgia and Russia dislike each other.Georgia always looked as 'baby' or lower and Russia been looking down on them.I'm Georgian.Sometimes people go in stadiums not because to cheer their country but to use oppurtunity to put down the next country that they hate. Its bigger then soccer when these two play.Soccer is bigger then just sport and entartainment. It involves these kind of stuff. One might say they are krazy, serial killers.

Is he German?I dont think so but that makes me think of Hitler and how he would refer to his army.Is he nazi supporter?
That's not a nazi salute, it's a roman salute. used by Mussolini and also before that, in the great roman days.

There IS a difference, the roman salute was born before the world war. The roman salute is assimilated to the great roman empire. In italy it's FORBIDDEN to do it, so he got fined for that of course. Same thing would've happened if he did the nazi sign.

In Italy, there are 3 clubs whos fans are racists or facists. It's mostly Lazio, Inter and the lesser known club Hellas Verona. But the hypocricy among them is quite big. For instance, Lazio has/had players of black skin yet they loved him. Same with Inter and Verona.

I think they're just some confused idiots, really...

but what's going on in the spains stadiums is worse, especially when the nt plays. That thing doesn't happen for italy so I guess they're better off..

Heh, it is the Roman salute, though. Hitler jacked it like he jacked the Swastika.
Yeah I know. It's strange when you walk through that EUR area in Rome and their are those signs on the walls of buildings build in the Mussolini-era. They're on the buildings because Italians claim it's a classic sign. What in fact is true, but it wasn't meant like it.

it's not what i ment (if you were refering to me)

anyways, even if he says that it's a Roman Salute (which it is) he says that so he can escape sanctions and bans... stop being smartasses... both you and me know that he does it because he is a fascist... damn it he said it himself... and that hand raise IS a fucking nazi salute even IF IT WAS Romans Salute(like each and every one of you said)
