Im a busy man, and when at home, somewhat relaxed (read: lazy) so when it comes time to cook I just put something quick in the oven. Sausages, chips, etc etc. Everything tends to turn out greasy and no doubt unhealthy.

I want to eat healthy, really I do :(.

Whats some simple quick alternatives to dinner? Something filling and good!

Discuss.

get a george foreman grill if they sell them in aussie land... they drain all the grease while keeping the food juicy if you want to keep eating things that tend to have alot of grease. burgers, sausage or whatever

george foreman grills rule the probable universe, maybe more.

Have a salad or a stir fry. A stir fry will take the same time, if not less, as cooking sausages n chips but be more healthy n hopefully taste better. Cut up some chicken breast into strips, peppers (all the colours baby), chillies, coriander and woteva else u want (thatl take u 5mins). Then throw it all into a wok with a lil olive oil and cook til the chicken turns white (<10mins). And there's your healthy but yummy meal.

Alternatively eat a whole lump of lettuce. Drizzled with vinegar. U know u want to.

Yeah but the idea is that you make a load, store it and then when you want it just go and get it, so it's instant

Here are some options.

To determine the program best suited for you, use your ideal body weight x 10 to find your targeted calorie range. (e.g. 150 lbs x 10 = 1,500 calories)

Here's an example for an 1,800 calorie meal plan. . .
Breakfast
Cereal with Banana Slices
1 1/2 cups (1oz) Multi-Grain Cereal
1 medium Banana
3/4 cup Skim Milk

AM Snack
Yogurt
8 oz Fat Free Yogurt
Mix 1/4 cup of Low Fat Granola into your Yogurt
Apple

Lunch
Salad with Shredded Chicken
4 oz Shredded Chicken Breast, baked
1 Garden Salad w/ 2 tbs Fat Free Salad Dressing
1 small Whole Wheat Roll
1 cup of Strawberry slices

PM Snack
Popcorn
3 cups Popcorn, Lite or Air Popped
1/3 Cup of Raisins

Dinner
Swordfish with Broccoli
5oz Swordfish, Grilled or Baked w/squeezed Lemon and Seasoning
1 cup Broccoli, Cooked
3/4 cup Brown Rice
1 Garden Salad w/ 2 tbs Fat Free Salad Dressing

Eating 5 to 6 meals a day is a good way to keep your metabolism fast and keep fat at bay, whatever your goal,

and if your aim is to stay slim then your probably doing alright depending on your height & weight,

p.s sorry if this is a little off topic:)

I don't really care what my weight is but I'd like more muscle tone.
Add more protein to your meals maybe 10 grams a meal, also maybe change your training program, if your struggling to gain more muscle tone :thumb:

Pasta makes the world go round. Pastas, rice is "teh pwn". Don't refrain from cooking, it gives satisfaction :) I like to cook personally. But even if you don't, pasta is stupidly easy to make, horribly good for you and its nice too. Rice is more labour intensive, but still easy.

oatmeal sucks. imo, the best healthy and quick meal is cornflakes (not the sugar-ridden ones). eating them is not just limited to mornings, on many occasions i eat them before doing sport at night and it doesnt weigh you down, while at the same time ensuring you are not hungry anymore. actually oatmeal is very close to cornflakes in composition, but the difference is that cornflakes dont suck.

There isn't nothing wrong with eating greasy food, as long as every meal you have isn't a greasy one; that's when it gets unhealthy.

You can't have a good meal without some fat in it anyway. The body needs fat and puts it to good use. Also fat adds to flavour. No Fat = No Flavour.

If all someone eats is sausage and chips, burgers etc. Then the best thing you can do, to eat healthy, is to cook everythin in the oven. Food cooked in the oven can cook in its own fat; there is no need to add extra, like if you was to shallow fry something.

I have found Chinese food to be the most healthiest. Their tastes consisting of mainly Rice dishes and Stir-Frys. Stir-Frys only need the minimum amount of fat/oil in the pan. Or even Italian dishes; both (Italian/Chinese) with their types of food offered and appropriate methods of cooking, make them healthier than most common British food.
