Privacy ain't a thing...is it?

Have you heard anyone say something like this? “If you’ve got nothing to hide, then you’ve got nothing to fear,” or “I’m not concerned about online privacy – I have nothing to hide.”

If you have said that, or know someone who has, take a look at this video and see if it changes your thinking.

It sends chills down my spine.

If you’ve never given much thought to the erosion of your personal privacy in this digital age, you really ought to.

You may have to view the flash in IE. It wasn't working for me in Firefox.

Video didn't worry me in the slightest. I respect your opinion. But I'm for the government having more security and details of the people.

Groobz, I never valued your opinions, but forum regulations won't allow me to say anything other than this. I disagree with almost everything you have to say, and there's really not much more than that.

I hope someone takes you to Cuba so you can have a great time there. Its unfortunate you didn't live in Russia during the Soviet era.

I've had as many disagreements with groobz as anyone, but let's not disrespect him or devalue his right to express himself. I've always thought it's better that people have an opinion rather than not, even if we do not share them.

So let's get back to the discussion and not discredit anyone.

people who say "if they don't have anything to hide they have nothing to fear" should live in a glass house and see what its like being watched by strangers all the time

Fine. Create a country that's for people like you. I would then like to see which country is better off. The one that is possibly more secure and extremely lacking in privacy or the one that promotes freedom.

Exactly. I am not a terrorist, but I want my freedoms. I don't want to government to know what books I am getting at the library or which websites I visit. The book thing is almost a reality here in the USA. Actually, the gov. did spy on people's library records last year.

I agree with penny, I love my freedom and I'll fight anyone that tries to take that away from me. People like groobz should read 1984.
