not that great of a god if he/she only answers SOME prayers

God cant do everything for you he can guide you in the right path. YOU as a person must make the effort, something you want in life, you pray to him an ask him for help an guidance. its your job to make the effort an do the hard work to become successful.

As far as being sick, it depends on the life style that person lives. God may need you with him in heaven, your time on earth is coming to an end. "As the story goes the good people die young an early".

A person that lived worldly lives a fast life didnt abide by god's rule an law never gave an effort an read gods word. that person became sick, God is not gonna save em.

I'm sure God needs another person in heaven, oh wait he can do anything with a snap of his fingers since HE CREATED THE UNIVERSE*

A person that lived worldly lives a fast life didnt abide by god's rule an law never gave an effort an read gods word. that person became sick, God is not gonna save em.
And that makes people not believe in God. Having to believe in this "loving God" to be saved.

*if you believe in that stuff

Maybe im alittle confused, but isnt God omnipotent? God can do all the things she wants.

Thats funny, because lots of people are born sick, but i guess thats just from the afterlife? (Wich doesnt fit with the "when you die its either hell or heaven for eternity)

^That's fresh.

But it makes no sense to try to say that God "definately thinks this" or "definately thinks that." If a "God" exists it is so so so so so infinitely beyond the capacity of our intellect and reasoning.

But for anyone who believes in God:
To me prayer is a form of well-wishing for others, and it shouldn't be a request, as in "please make this person well God." Rather it should be more like, "give this person your love and guidance, give them your strength, give them your hope God." Basically it is a meditative message towards God that you have love for someone and you are asking God to remind the person of the strength inside themselves (whether they realize it or not). The evidence of God is not evident, because it is already there. If someone gets cancer, that's "God's plan," or as I've heard it, "God's Play." There are no God-given punishments, and there are no God-given rewards for our deeds. They just are. We make our own punishments and our own rewards. God gives us strength and love.

praying is overrated
yeah definitly.

prayer is supposed to be a communication between god and the believers, not a request. at least that is what i have learned from catholic church.

personally, i think prayers are only a way to make ourself feel better and to think that someone up there will help us making ourselves more self confident.

i sorta liked that definition:

4. prayer

The best, most peaceful way to communicate your worries, wishes, and hopes and dream to God. A way to reinforce ones personal faith, or, to pray for the well-being of another person.

An active way to talk to God and express your faith, hope, and belief in the power that God has to enact blessings and change in your life or the life of another.

"I prayed for Chris, knowing that only God could help him even more than I or anyone else could."

"I tried to work things out, but it seems beyond me. All I can do now is go to prayer and give it to God."
