Papelbon blows 2 saves in a row to the ROYALS

#8
well, it cant be as bad as brad lidge, right???

really, i think the yanks are gonna win their division...so now the red sox gotta get in through the wild card...the white sux are stumbling, and hey, they're playing the yanks and losing...the sox kinda blew it cuz they coulda taken 2 or swept the royals, and the yanks woulda taken 2...and everything woulda been fine...sox just arent making the most of it....

it's also possible they may lose clement for the year too....i dunno why my cubbies let clement go... maybe if he were in chicago he wouldnt have been hit in the head and lost his career...he was some guy....

and as far as papelbon goes, im not able to watch him pitch...so to me, im just making blind comments....i think he's overrated...i wana see this kid perform under pressure...like against the royals...do you give up one run and still manage to leave the game at a tie and not cause further damage, or will you allow the sacrifice to be followed by a single and lose the game and make donkey kong at first base mad?

Bank, are you crazy? Tavarez blows every game he's in. He's garbage. Tihs isn't the same Julian that pitched for the Cardinals.

tennis_dog, Clement is garbage too. Signing him wa sone of the worst moves Theo has made. He was good for half a season. We could've used the money we gave his overpaid ass to give Pedro that 4th year and/or keep Derek Lowe.

And Papelbon is nasty. He's just having a couple bad days, like the rest of the Sox. I've seen him pitch. The kid is a future ace (80% he will be in the rotation next year).

oh, that's a terrible way to go...from possibly setting records for a closers era and stuff, only to be thrown into a rotation?? the red sox would have to be pretty damn desperate....

look what happened to gagne...

clement is not garbage...if he's garbage, it's once he came to the red sox and got that line drive to the head...he's never been the same since then...

pedro is a money hungry bastard...he went to the mets for omar minaya, ok, but also for a couple million more...i dont think that was clement's contract money...but correct me if im wrong..

red sox really lost a nut trading for coco crisp and losing han-ram.....woo...that has to hurt..

^ Crisp looks like he might be starting to come around.

And Papelbon was always meant to be a starter. He just got thrown into the closer role because we had nothing else. Lester was supposed to be in the one in the bullpen, but Papelbon has been doing so well in the closer spot that Francona won't move him this season. He wants a whole offseason for him to adjust to starting again.

And yeah, Clement hasn't been the same. It doesn't matter if it's because he got hit in the head or not. He sucks now, and I don't see him coming around.

And I have nothing against Pedro. He didn't care about money, he cared about years. He wanted the security of the fourth year.

one year or so of Clement = fourth year of Pedro

^^ true that....but the royals are not as anemic as one thinks...that mark teahen guy is really a threat....wasnt he the one that got the final hit? a walk and then a hit from this guy results in two runs, and its something even the lowly royals can do...walk...get a hit...

they also said clement could be done for this year, which is sad....the guy really had a bright future....this never woulda happened if the cubbies management wasnt so shitty....

No need to press the panic button if you're a Red Sox fan. They are still in it, and the only reason the pitching is struggling right now (Lester and Papelbon, mostly) is because Varitek is hurt, and they're lost, once he comes back it'll be gravy.

^ I'd support nayone who said he was the most overpaid pitcher in the majors.

Exactly. People seem to forget how valuble 'Tek is to Boston's staff. He's not the team captain because he can hit, ya know.

I just hope we stop blowing games so that we don't fall too far out of it before he gets back.

No need to panic, but I'm worrying.

But isn't Rivera suppose to be greatest closer of all time.
and who said he wasn't?

no closer has a 100% save percentage

seriously Bach, you seem to love looking for pointless arguements and end up losing each time, just do yourself a favor and shush
