Mark Viduka was supposed to play for Croatia back when he was still decent, but the manager at the time said that Suker and Boksic were our first choice strikers, and Viduka would have to sit on the bench. He didn't like that, so he chose Australia instead. Not that it mattered, Suker and Boksic were better anyways lol.

Aye I do know players can do that if their families are linked to another country, but things like Amauri who might play for Italy...Why? Hes doing it further his career he doesn't care if its for Italy or some other nation. I'm glad certain Italian players are so against the idea :thumb:

Although you can argue about cases for Deco, who Brazilians didn't give a fuck about lol

Funny thing, Christian Veiri and his brother play for two different nations :wondering:

He was born in Australia anyways so it's not like he chose another country really..

I was pissed off about Ibrahimovic at first, but he's born in Sweden so... He did play a match or two for Bosnia's U21.

I'm pissed about Marko Marin, who chose Germany instead of Bosnia... The cunt.

I also hate everyone in the French team who are not really French. Say what you want, the Lithuanian fans were right:

Welcome to Europe.

I remember before France 98, some people in France refused to support their team due to the fact they were all pretty much African lol.

France isn't a French team. lol. It's annoying when they call Eduardo the 'Brazilian-Croat' in Newspapers, but when it comes to France, they're all french... Yah, cause names like Boumsong, Mouhamadou Dabo, are very French.....

Yeah, you don't hear about the Senegalese-French playing for Inter... or the great Argentinian-French from Juventus...

Double standards as always.

I may have exaggerated on France, because I'm a fan, but come on...

France does have a lot of African immigrants who can be by now described as French, but yeah it does look all very "imported", hehe.

I remember Keane tore into Vieira over him not representing Senegal, the country of his birth. As if he can talk. He walked out on his team just before a WC in which we had a great chance of doing very well in.

I'm sorry, but that's just BS to me..
They grew up and were raised in France, let them play for France instead of a country where they might have been born, but don't necesairily feel they belong too..

I was born in Ecuador and adopted at the age of 4 to Belgium.
Does that mean I should play for Ecuador? :p I don't even speak Spanish..
I root for them when they're playing, because it's a small country and I still feel a certain relation towards my country of birth, but I'd nver play for them..
I'd definitely play for Belgium tho', as I feel like a Belgian

think it's the same thing with those French players

I don't care either, I just find France sad. lol.

Apparently Sofian Chahed of Hertha said, if they win the Bundesliga, he's gonna buy every Hertha fan a beer that in the stadium for the last match of the season. lol

No, it's not the same thing, they moved to France when they were brought in by French scouts to become professional players.

I moved from Bosnia-Herzegovina at the age of 10, been in Canada for 12 years now(with brief pauses of great summers in my home region weeeeeeeee), and there's no way in hell that I'd play for anyone else than Bosnia-H... Not even hockey...

Still, it's not THAT big of a deal to me, I don't care that much, besides, France is half White, 1/4 Black and 1/4 from Maghreb now... it kind of represents the country.

Darragh, wasn't Keane kicked out of the team after the players voted for him not to be in the team?

^^no he abused Mick McCarthy and McCarthy told him to go home. He was pissed off over the attitude of team and the facilities. He felt that they were only there for a holiday. To a certain extent i agree with him but i think he could have played the tournament and then let rip afterwards. He let alot people down. Without him Ireland did well and should have beaten Spain. He was half our team in the qualifiers so its fair to say he would have made a big difference in that game.
