Yeah, but the Cavaliers didn't put up a better fight than the Hawks. Nonetheless, Celtics still advanced, as I thought.

Spurs are beating the Lakers. I will start taking pay-pal bets Tuesday morning, 8:00am, Pacific time. Minimum $10.

newb my ass ive been watchin basketball since birth.. lakers are younger, way more athletic, and just simply a better team. the hornets pushed the spurs to seven games with tyson chandler and david west playin on tim duncan, so with gasol and odom playing on him, thats an even better tandem. nobody on the spurs can guard kobe, nobody in the solar system can guard kobe. the only advantage the spurs will have will be parker against fisher. fuck the spurs.

How are Odom and Gasol a better tandem against Duncan? Both players can't even play defense. Chandler did a great job on Duncan, defense-wise.

The only advantage the Lakers have is home court. That's it. They still haven't encountered a real defensive team in these playoffs, so when they face the Spurs, it'll be like hitting a concrete wall. You don't have to shut Kobe down to beat the Lakers. Everybody knows that.

the lakers smashed the spurs in the reg. season tho, i know they split the reg. season series but when the lakers won it was an emphatic win. chandler and west didnt play "excellent" defense on duncan, they just nagged him into missing some shots he would normally make. if they lakers stay true to their defense they can shut down tim duncan, and when you cut off the head of the snake, the body dies. odom and gasol combined average about five blocks a game, this will allow the lakers guards to gamble on defense, and when the spurs guards try to slash to the basket, they must deal with odom and gasol and their blockin abilities. gasol's offense is better than tim duncans. duncan rebounds significantly better though. if the lakers just make their shots and limit duncans contributions on the glass, thats all they have to do.

nag tim duncan into bricking shots off the rim like he did in the new orleans series, play solid defense on parker and ginobili, and keep kobe involved. kobe can go off for 60 points whenever he feels like it, but he can also share the ball this season. this is a lakers team unlike any lakers team the spurs have played in postseason before. everyone picks up their game in the postseason, esp. odom and gasol this year.

lakers in six... MAYBE seven.

The regular season doesn't mean shit when it comes to the playoffs. Common knowledge.

Chandler and West played as good a defense on Duncan as he's going to face in the playoffs.

The Lakers can't stay true to their defense because they don't have one. Common knowledge. They beat you with their triangle offense and with 2 good stops in the 4th quarter.

Gasol isn't better offensively than Duncan, Gasol is just a better mid-range shooter. Duncan is five times better in the low post, which is where you'd rank a Power Forward's offense, anyway.

Odom isn't a shot-blocker, are you serious? He averaged less than one block per game in the regular season and 1.5 in the playoffs. I'll give it to Gasol though, he stepped his blocks up in the post-season.

Kobe would have to take more than 35 shots to score 60 against the Spurs in the playoffs. To take that amount of shots would mean he lost the game.

I swear, and this is coming from being in contact with five die-hard Laker fans on a daily basis, nobody overrates a team more than Laker fans.

lol @ Spurs blowing 20 point lead.

Agreed :D Kobe Can Turn it On..2 Points First Half was it 26 in the second...He scored alot of points when Bowen Went off and got into foul trouble...Duncan is Simply Amazing..I heard Ginobli had to wear a Ceramic Nail cause he ripped his other one off or something...

Congrats to the Lakers..

lmao at odom not being a shot blocker, then he blocked tim duncans layup in the first quarter.... ironyyyyy.

kobe kept finding gasol, it was lovely.

spurs blew that 20 point lead and Kobe fed it to 'em in the second half.

oh and by the way, i'm not a die hard laker fan. i was rooting for the nuggets against them in round one, but we all know how that went. if it would've came down to Hornets/Lakers I would be wondering who to cheer for, but honestly it would've prolly ended up being Lakers. I'm a Bobcats fan {frowns...}
