PKG file whould be opened with Installer (Application>Utilities)

I'm not sure what's going on on your mac but to me it sounds like you need to click on a PKG file, go to File>Get Info.

In the "XXXX_XXX.pkg Info" window, go to "Open with:"

Select "Installer" ("Installer" should be the default but sounds like it's not so bare with me)

After you have "Installer" slected, click on the "Change All" button.

Hopefully this is the solution. :)

Get FFScroll if you have a pre 2005 powerbook... and you can enable 2 finger scrolling on your trackpad. mind you it may be a little bit of a bitch to set up. i'm still honing mine a little.

And salty... i have nothing in my utilities folder... now is that weird or what. Is there any chance you can compress and email me the utilities folder u have. I can't be bothered going to friends house and getting mac os x cd's and reparing it. I'm just hoping a simple copy and paste would fix it up

Let me know.
