Watever happened to Melo???
I never liked Carmelo Anthony from the start from comparing him and Lebron to next Magic/Bird duo to him talking shit on olympics saying we gonna win. i dont think he and Lebron be a entertaining duo because Melo isn't on Lebron's level. just because they both came up on NBA on same year and have childhood thing going on doesnt give media right to label them next Magic/Bird duo. i rather think Lebron and Kobe will be a good duo to watch in next coming years.

Melo is doing his thing, he is coming out of late. I blame George Karl, he hasn't given his team something, they always play the role of lets do something to stop the other team, not lets go out here play our game and win. The Nuggets dont have a "game" and that is the problem so far. Melo hits clutch shots too. How can you say Melo sucsk this year, he is having his best yea so far in his career.

"And im sayin he doesn't neccesserly have to make game winning shots to be a clutch player"
Is that like an oxymoron or something. How can you not be clutch without making those shots, without winning it in those last minutes. That almost makes no sense.
If someone is gonna call him great you bring up other great players, Kobe in this discusion is fine. For me, Kobe is better than LeBron. People say the assists shit but those are people who dont watch the games and just read stats. Kobe would average 6 or 7 assists if his teammates made shots consistently. Kobe is a winner, if he dont think you can hit shots why give him the ball, that also might be a downfall. Also Kobe has more charisma and the go get it attitude, the ability to take a game over and say my team is winning. LeBron, he won't win anything without his "Shaq" or other great role palyers either.

Kobe never tried to be Mike Jordan. He has said many times that he doesn't want to be him. It was the media who kept making that comparison.
BULLSHIT! do you even watch him play? look at his fadeaway, his drives to the basket how he tries to play with so much finesse and how he tries to have so much composure off the court he looks silly hes a fool trying to be mj, look at him answer questions after interviews he like thinks for a sec how would mj do this and says some bullshit that you kno he would never say

guranteed kobe goes home watches mj tapes and tries to emulate em over and over again

sorry to make this into a kobe thread but this was just ignorant

I'm just saying Melo and Lebron won't be good entertaining duo in future in my opinion. Lebron will one day break out like krazy and be like what Kobe is doing today,(not taking shots from half court) but dominating games and giving defenders nightmares day in day out and all which he is already but he be even better. and i just dont think Melo would match that domination. so i think him and Kobe will be more entertaining duo to watch since Kobe is already dominating his game. i could be underestimating Melo though.

And maybe clutch players do need to be making game winning shots and big shots.

I never saia Melo and LeBron are a good matchup, I'd watch Kobe and LeBron over that anyday, I agree with you but I was jsut saying Melo is doing his thing, he is a good palyer.

Michael Jordan is good or great at every aspect of the game, so I mean anything anyone does you can see they are emulating MJ. But hold up, who doesn't want to be the greatest. Look at Kobe and MJ, same size, same stature, everything, even athletic ability is pretty much the same, why wouldn't those two play like each other. Thats like why does a 7 footer play like another 7 footer. Talking about his facial features or finesse or if he is composed or not, I mean what is wrong with that. Just weird.

1 former all-star (Ilgauskas) and another who can shoot lights out from the 3-point line (Marshall). Who does Kobe have?
what does it matter that they have a 'former' allstar on the team. the lakers have a former number 1 pick in the draft (k. brown) and 1 of the best solid all around players in the league (odom) id also say bryant has had the coaching edge throughout his career. not to mention hes how much older then lebron? lebron is in his 3rd year and one of the top players in the league, bryant started off as a 6th man...

exactly, so you can't compare kobe's first couple seasons to lebron's. lebron was so hyped up when he was coming into the league, it ain't a fair comparison

Okay, if that's the case, then Mike was trying to be Dr.J, then. Julius played with finesse, so did Mike:rolleyes: . That's what you do when you are a finesse player, you play with finesse, u idiot.

"look at him answer questions after interviews he like thinks for a sec how would mj do this"

Dude, do you know how ignorant that sounds? That right there is a prime example of finding anything to say about someone you hate. And so what he fades away. That's like saying I'm trying to copy Tim Duncan if I constantly went for the bank shot, or Steve Nash is trying to imitate "Pistol" Pete Maravich just because he throws fancy passes like Pete does. Or Dirk Norwitzki is trying to be Larry Bird just because he's a big man who shoots 3s. Jordan did not invent the fade-away.

Here's proof that the media constantly tries to portray Kobe as the next Jordan. This is a story on Kobe's 81 point effort. The 4th and 5th words they mention are 'Michael Jordan'. They mention Mike before they mention Kobe, even though the article is about Kobe. In all, I believe Mike is mentioned 5 times in the story.

said by Kobe Bryant said:
"Through my career I've been compared to him so many times, and I just wish it would stop," Bryant said. "He's Michael Jordan and I'm Kobe Bryant; we're two different players. I just wish people would let it go because it really annoys me.

Did i say he shouldnt play with finesse because thats automatically copying mj? the way he plays like HOW he drives to the basket, HOW his style emulates jordans, i didnt once say that mj is the only player who played with finesse.

have you seen a kobe interview? maybe get his dick out of your ass and actually watch one, now watch a mj interview.

and again just because kobe does a fadeaway doesnt mean that hes automatically copying mj, mj didnt invent the fadeaway i know. but look at his style of shooting em its an exact replica of mj's fadeaway. look at his style of play... whos does it most resemble? you can tell he wants to be like mj.. he didnt have this early in his career he developed it when he started to get talked about.

Sorry if I'm wrong, but I never knew that someone could emulate another person's style of conducting a interview, the same of driving to the lane. Doing a lay-up is doing a lay-up, period. Do you mean doing reverses when he is trapped? Well guess what, T-Mac, V.C., Chuancey Billups, Dwayne Wade and a gang of other players do that also. And what do you mean his style of shooting? How many ways can u shoot with out looking the same as the next player? You post, spin, raise up and release. How can it get anymore versatile than that? RIP Hamilton plays exactly like Reggie Miller, yet there is absolutely nothing wrong there. What's the difference between Jordan and Kobe?

Oh yeah, watch Kobe's high school games, he played the exact same way he does now, with more skill.

I seriously do not see the connection between M.J. and Kobe. The thing is that when Jordan retired, people were desperately hoping that another player of the likes of Jordan would come along. They've placed this stereotype on every high-flying, high scoring SG since Jordan's last days. Kobe, Lebron, even Vince Carter when he first emerged. Unfortunately, it just happened to stick with Kobe. It's even arising in Lebron. People just want another M.J.
