Kobe's Numbers Still Don't Add Up To MJ

He may have surpassed Jordan in stats by the time he is done his career, but he will never be considered on the same level or equal to Jordan, nevermind surpassing him. It's like hockey in a way. People will break his records eventually, but Wayne Gretzky will always be remembered as the best that ever played. Same with Jordan. It will only be the hardcore Kobe fans that will think of him on that level, no one else will.
Its only Kobe haters than bring up the comparison. Jordan doesnt have shit to do with the Lakers so we dont care. :thumb:

No its not. When people look at the records they make up their own minds. I'm neither a Kobe hater or lover, but the fact is that every great basketball player from now till the end of eternity will be compared to MJ, and in the minds of the average fan of the game, Kobe, or anyone else for that matter, will ever be able to measure up to Jordan. Like it or not it's a fact you just have to live with.

Kobe quote after scoring 81

"Through my career I've been compared to him so many times, and I just wish it would stop," Bryant said. "He's Michael Jordan and I'm Kobe Bryant; we're two different players. I just wish people would let it go because it really annoys me."

And? Like I said, every great ball player from now until they stop playing the game, and especially great players who play the same position, will be compared to MJ because he is seen as the greatest by the majority of fans. So either deal with it, or stop watching the game, cuz this is a fact of life in basketball and any other sport with legendary players.

And, stop comparing Kobe to MJ. As much as you guys want him to be Jordan. He never will be.

I don't compare him to Jordan cuz in my mind he is nowhere near Jordan. I don't want him to be Jordan. No one will ever be Jordan except for Michael Jordan. But it's stupid to think he won't be compared to Jordan, considering that every athlete in every sport is always compared to another great player in that sport. Its a fact of life. Complaining about it won't change anything so deal with it

I don't even know why all the hate on Kobe. Last time I checked the Lakers were down by at least 18 points against the Raptors, so with that being said Kobe did what he had to do and score 81. Kobe was trying to win the game not add up to MJ.

He is a article I am sure you guys who don't even like Kobe will enjoy. Its by Scoop Jackson who was also a editor of XXL magazine, so it will have some hip hop in it. One Love.

why is it that if someone doesn't shower a guy with nothing but adoration, they are haters? I got nothing against Kobe, and I was impressed by his 81 point game. I just don't understand why people have to piss and moan when he's unfavorably compared to Jordan. Anyone you compare to Jordan would come out looking less impressive, its not that big a deal. it's funny tho, as AM pointed out, that so many Kobe fans were comparing him to Jordan early in his career, but now that its obvious that he will never equal what Jordan did, they don't wanna compare anymore.

i never said that they were saying he was better, but there were lots of Kobe fans who were making the comparison. Now, they don't wanna compare any more.

They were comparing not saying he was going to be better then MJ. The comparison happen because Kobe's game is similiar to MJ's game. They didn't want to compare anymore because you guys were taking it the wrong way.

Three years of NBA experience means nothing? lmao. Kobe was able to learn from the likes of Shaq and Eddie Jones in each of those three years, and averaged just under 20 ppg by his third season. He was an all-star in his second season.
and you don't think if kobe was coached by the best ncaa coach he wouldn't be that much better

Are you trying to tell me that the players are more skilled in Kobe's time than in Jordan's?
no but you make it out like the west wasnt as dominant as it was

Again, I said he isn't a scoring threat. If I have to highlight that again, I might have an anurism. I never denied Rodamn's rebounding and defensive abilities.
and i was never talking about rodman's scoring from the begin so i dont understand what your original point of bringing it up is, rodman was never a scorer and scoring has nothing to do with his importance to any team or championship

Could Jordan win a championship with the cast the Kobe has now? Yes. Can Kobe? Not with the way he is playing, no..
nor kobe or mj could win a championship with the lakers current roster, kobe and can take them past the first round if they dont play san antonio but no championship, would jordan and the current lakers roster beat the current pistons or spurs..... no.... jordan was arguably the best player ever however he is not god

I dont think he reffered to MJ as god. i dont think MJ is a god either.

I think MJ could've win championship with the current Lakers team. MJ was a team player. he made people around him better players. thats basically the buttom line.
