Joining The Air Force?...

The.Menace did u not read my 1st post?..I said i was thinking about joining the air force, not the army, not a computer game, yes i do kno its 6 and a 1/2 weeks of BMT which is BOOT CAMP if u didnt kno And the reasons i want to join again is because where i live there are no jobs left you either already have a good job or your stuck serving lunch or bagging grocies for those that do have the good jobsMy families not that rich they cant just pay for college, so there goes that option, i dont have the money for it, there goes that! So if you have any other suggestions besides the military then plz say it! stead of bein a smartass!

First: All I did was asking for a reason - and if you want to go to college and that's your only chance, that's a good reason, I give you that - but think about it and don't rush your decision.

Unlike, I guess, every other guy in here I've been through all this basic training stuff before - ask yourself if you'd have the discipline and while doing so keep my name outta your mouth. Noone thinks it's cool to kill people? Obviously you never spent time with a sniper troup, believe me, they're out there for the kills. :thumb:

Its amazing to me that you, a former soldier, would talk someone out of joining a military branch..And fuck you!..thats being a smartass, your 1st post you kept throwing out dumbass questions which i had already answered, Idc if youve killed peope in the sniper squad that was UR choice 2 go into that, not every1 elses so wont u try helping sum1 out instead of craming ur shit into every1 elses?...And unlike puff whos trying to give help about the topic your ass is replying asking if we have the discipline..who the fuck r u to tell us we dont have the discipline..if your not gonna contribute then just stay the hell outta here buddyAssholes like you who come into threads talkn shit is wut causes threads to be closed so if you cant stay on the topic and not jude every1 then plz save it! go fuck up sum1 elses thread!

navy, air force, army, marines, coast guard, it's all under one govt, but they are not the same. period.

i come from a huge line of a military family. not just my parents. grandparents, uncles, etc. i have a better understanding of the military than most people in the military.

i know i have the discipline. by the age of 6 it became a habbit for me to get up with my parents at 5:30 every morning. even when i was 16 i was still getting up by 6 every morning out of habbit. i have a black belt in korean martial arts. that takes discipline.

and you are right , i may have never spent time with sniper troops, i have met snipers. i have never met one who brags about killing a person or so much as even really talks about it. most people who have served in the military and been to war, do not talk about the people that they have killed.

i have met people who lie about being a sniper and say they killed 50 men but you could smell the bullshit a mile away.

Cheap shot, I know you're post was aimed at Arabs so dont deny it, you made it obviously clear, You're recruiting systems are far worse than that of other countries

why blame him for trying to talk somone out of joining the military? i am ex soldier too an i would do the same. The air force isnt so bad as the rest ( i was in the army btw) but no matter what you join ya gotta realize your life isnt yours anymore an whether you believe it or not someof your rights are taken away to, like an nco of mine told me once "the military is not a democracy, it is a dictatorship". anyway if your dead set on joining go with the air force, they treat their people 100 times better an living conditions are way better, whoever said you have to have a bachelors before you can become an officer thats not entirely true, you have to have atleast 30 credit hours, be recommended by atleast 2 or 3 commisoned officers to be an ocs canidate, once you complete that, i believe you have 3 maybe 4 years to complete your degree, if you fail to, you loose your commison an your career as an officer is over. hope that helps peace

Ok..so i went to a recuriting office today (Army office) because the Air force office is too far away to drive right now, anywayz, i get to talking to the recuiter and he tells me that the Air force uses open contracts which means you may get a job in the field you like but you wont get the job you WANT they will put you wherever they want you, but he showed me an army contract, and he said they give you the job you want and its in your contract so you will alwayz have that job it wont change..He said its also bullshit about how they take care of there people 100x better he said its all the same threw every branch of the military..he said the air force basically is desk jobs and are the ones that carry them from place to place..so wut do yall think?

i'll ask my dad tomorrow about the air forces open contracts. there is alot of desk jobs and you can get moved around. i remember my mom ran the supply warehouse for the longest time then one day the govt decided to contract the supply warehouse out to a civilian company so she ended up getting transfered to hazmat.

if you join the army go ahead and start running. learn to love running. air force basic training you run about a mile day. army runs about 4. not sure exactly how many miles buts its around that.
