Joining The Air Force?...

Im thinking about joining the air force when i graduate next year, but im not real sure if its what i should do because it seems like everyday someones getting killed over a road side bomb or insurgents, so im really not sure about my decesion yet but id like sum input on what you think mayb you kno sum1 thats in the air force now or anything to help my decesion would be appreciated!

air force aren't the marines, you'll be far away from the action on the streets of Iraq cities. Only trouble there will be is 1) helicopter being attacked 2) dropping bombs on your own allies.

you can become mechanic too...or bomb loader, or join the navy to signal carrier fighters to land, whatever

my parents are retired from the air force. i have known lots of young people that have joined the air force. they all say its easy. it really is the easiest military force to join. the only way you will se combat in the air force is if your in the special ops unit. but its really hard to get into and you have to go throught the same training the navy seals go through. but like gloc said, its not the marines. if you want to worry about road side bombs and getting into daily shoot outs then join the army or marines. if you join the air force you'll be sitting around the base all day.


have you thought about what sort of career path you wanted to take? did you want to get your school paid for?

i think big easy joined the navy. i might be wrong on that. but if he did he could give you some advice too.

If you want to join the military, the Air Force IS the way to go. For one the quality of life is better than the other services, there are more chances for training, more emphasis is placed on the troop instead of the equipment. It's not true that joining the Air Force means that you won't be in harms way though, it just depends on your job and depending on what your job is... you could be on thr front lines when the shit hits the fan (don't let anyone tell you that there are only w couple Air Force jobs like that... there are SEVERAL). The chances to travel are awesome... whatever you do, take a LONG time to think about it and also, don't listen to only the recruiter, he's basically a car salesman that will say almost anything to get you to sign. airmen also make very little money. i would save as much as possible before you join. some of the kids that use to work under my mom would have a 2nd job outside of the military.

Ok..the type of career im going for in the air force is Communications/Computer Systems Operations Apprentice. I talked to a recuiter and he said that it doesnt matter what type of job you have, if your stationed with a squad that gets put on the front lines you could be in harms way.But mainly the reasons I want to join so bad is because 1.Pays for school 2.No good jobs avaliable where i live(making 6.00 at a food lion now) 3.How well the air force takes care of its people(pays for housing,ins., medical,and you can retire in 20 years) At an entry level air man which is E-1 i would be making around 1,142.70.

if you wanna join the military whatever branch it is go for it...you wont make make the most money, your life will be owned, all your desicions will be made for you, you run a greater risk of being killed...especialy in a time of war, then go for it

there are good advantages of the military though i mean if your single you can live in teh barracks with the other boys, they love to give you loans you have to pay back for cars and shit, or if your married then you can get a housing allowence, or military housing if its open, you can get stationed in wonderful shitholes around the world, you can get deployed for up to half a year at a time(war time even longer) then while you wife is sitting their all alone it can be a great test of your realtionship to see if she can be content with no sex or intimicy in this over sexed society, and you yor self will get to meet a variety of women willing to suck you and fuck you more ways then one, just dont get some disease from them...but of course

if you have a strong relationship with your wife or spouse and you are a yes man then you can rise in teh ranks and make more money and not have to worry about the straining of your career on you and your spouse...and if you have kids and go 6-12 months without seeing them in their devolopmental stage, may not be that bad

i forgot to say this...you have to live with the fact that you may be directly involved in the death of any number of people...but im sure they change your thinking to where you can justify killing innocent and non innocent people

what i dont think bc bucz understands is that their are officers in the air force and other military branches that make more money each year doing the same jobs that civilians do. its a good way to get an education.

the housing sucks. if you live on base your getting the smallest room you could ever imagine. you may even have to share it.

put it this wayda airforce are forsmarty's datswhyyou cant gt in with a gedi think.there mostly intelligence.the navy is the weapon supplier/hotel.the marines are the scouters/first 2 die niccas and the army is cleanup.airforce is best bet.i seee gothic airmen all the time in da stores in shit and i be like wat the fuck you doin here?aint there som e war going on and shit.they always tell me "yeeah thats the marines job!!"

Why do yo u want to join? Tell the some reasons? Do you think it's cool to kill people? Do you want to die for GWBush? Do you get something out of wearing a uniform? Are you willing 2 go through training period, where you're told when to get up, when to go to bed, when ot do this or that (just like in prison). yes you need at least a bacholors degree before you can become on officer. i was just throwing the officer thing out there because budz was saying that you should get a real job. but alot of the jobs in the military are the same as civilian jobs.

but if your joining the air force to get school paid for then thinking about joining rotc is a good idea.

he said he wants to join the AIR FORCE. hence the title of the topic.
as a person who spent 17 years growning up in the AIR FORCE, it is nothing like the army. it is a different world. everything from the way things are done, to basic training. he has already stated reasons for wanting to join. joining the military give many people a good chance for an education and training for jobs when they get out of the military.

getting up at 5am is about discipline. something i am willing to bet you do not have. i'm sure he know that he would have to go through basic training. i'm sure he didnt think "hey i can just walk right into the recruiter's office and out i come a airmen."

no one thinks its cool to kill people( no one in their right mind anyways). but if a muthafucka wants you dead and is going to pay little children to leave bombs on the side of the road to kill you, and pay children to aim ak47s at you, all because they are too much of a pussy to do it themselves, yea you might want those muthafuckas dead so they could stop spreading their hate.
