Such as John Elway when he lead his Team to the Super Bowl 3 Times in the late 80's to crushing defeats, to later redeam himself by winning back to back Super Bowls with help of strong suporting cast.

Look What Manning is working with, He has Marvin, Stokely and that other guy, a Blue Chip HB in James, The Number one and two sack leaders on defense.

as for Marino, he had some great talent and one of the top 5 Coach's of all time.

marino had avg wide recievers for the majority of his career, excluding a few years, overall nothing to write home about

he NEVER had a great running back, as a matter of fact he never had an avg running back, football more than any other sport is a team game and marino simply never had teh supporting cast to help him out

mannings defense stinks, they coudlnt get the pats off the field, they were avg at best all year, just because u got the sack leader doesnt mean u got a great defense, they have a shitty secondary and are porous against the run..

peyton manning did not by any means play poorly, he wasnt on the field that much because his defense could not get the pats off the field

learn to watch the game before some of you make these remarks..

There offense is great, but look at the last like 5 years, defensive teams have always won the superbowl. THEIR DEFENSE SUCKS! You can't win big relying on offense, that's been proven in the league. Having Dwight Freeney doesn't mean the other 10 defensive players are as good as he is.

I never said Marino had a great RB or even Great Recivers, but he had the "The Mark's brothers" for a few seasons and never did much with it. I honestly did not get to Watch Marinos Dolphins play to much so don't recall how there defense was. Marino is the Karl Malone on Football.

As for Elway not winning it untill he got a Strong D and suport from TD and others. that is True however he went 3 times with Teams that where no better then what Marino ever had and nothing close to what Payton has.

Payton is young and he could "pull an Elway" but I honestly don't see it. I think this season will fuck with him for some time to come. he should have refused to play for the Colts and Demanded a Trade to the Broncos

some of elways teams were good, but dont forget about the teams and the way the leauge was at the time, this is probably hands down the strongest class in the afc in a long time, when elway was taking his broncos to the superbow (the first 3 times) there werent a lot of power teams in the afc, the big teams, pittsburgh, cleveland (back in the 80s), houston, were all in sort of transition phases...
