I was talking to a guy at work today who is a Christian about Religion , and as im not a religious person i didnt agree with a lot he said and thought each to their own , but i did say that i hope there is some kind of way that we can see the loved ones who have passed away in our lifetime be it heaven or wherever when we die .

This brought out an interesting discusion about Heaven which had us both stuck .

When we die and see loved ones in heaven , how do they look to you and to others in heaven .

What im saying is for example - when you pass away and see your father ( who died before you ) , im thinking he will look the same to you as you remember he did in his final days on earth right ?

But then how will your father look to his parents ? ( who you would guess died before him ) Will he look the same as you see him i.e. an old man or will he look to them a lot younger as they remember him before they died ?

What do you guys think ? Does the Bible or the Quran or any other religion have any reference to this ? I would be interested in your thoughts .

i've heard that (supposedly) nobody has their physical form and looks in Heaven; it's not about you or your relationships, it's about you and God. i personally don't believe that, b/c i think Heaven is a reward, so you are rewarded by seeing your loved ones and "living" peaceful for eternity.

I don't think in "heaven" any of our souls have physical attributes in the traditional sense. There is no "seeing" or anything, the concept is completely over our heads here and I think it's supposed to be. I also believe that when we entered this life and time, we leave behind the true timeless-realm (heaven) of our souls and when we die we return there and probably get reincarnated. As far as other souls, I think we have soulmates that we get reincarnated with, but the human body/mind is so temporary.

Well according to a psychic on the Montell show, everyone goes to Heaven, they are all forgiven by God, and you will see your loved ones. However, they will look 30 years old, so your father if he died at 23 or even 75, he's going to look 30. If a child died at 3, or a baby died of cids, they will look 30.

This is all coming from the same psychic that said the Knicks would win the NBA championship in 2000.

My personal opinion is as soon as you are in Heaven you will meet God. God will be the first to greet you, then hopefully you will be able to see your loved ones. And maybe it won't end there, like maybe I'll be able to meet Pac. Maybe there will be karakoe night.

Damn, Heaven sounds so great to me.

Before going to heaven everyone undergoes a sex-change operation in Purgatory. So, yes, everyone is going to look somewhat different.

You will be transformed into a little cloud, wich communicates with other clouds, by changin shape.

Heaven is nothing but a big sex orgy, thats why the clouds turn toghetter, and drip thier fluids all over us when things get real heavy.

God is one horny bastard!

As I remember (I could be wrong), in the bible it say something about everyone forgetting everyone they knew in life. No memory is kept from your life on earth, therefore you can't miss someone you don't know exists.

The Bible don't say nothing like that.

Its 3am here so im pretty tired.. means that theres about to come something stupid from me. Dont take anything personal what im about to say.

TOLERANCE: Religion is matter of an oppinion and everybody diserves to have one. No need to diss someone who follows THE book, and neither those who doesnt.
MY FAITH: I use to believe in god, angels and heaven but I kind a lost my faith so I quited from church. Not because I compleatly dropped the faith but because I dont think I need church or bible to believe in something.
GREED?: Dont know how it is in other countries but here we have church tax that is 1% from your monthly sallory. That is one reason I quited since theres seems to be too much taking from "those guys": 1. I pay church taxes all my life. 2. Every occasion that involves religion or church costs: wedding, christening, Dont know the word for this one but the church camp thing that everybody christian must go at the age of 15 or something, funeral.. And even when your dead someone has to pay for you.. Your tombstone, coffin, grave spot (If you dont pay someone else get your spot.. Take your body out and thats it) and the gardener.. Otherwise they dont cut grass or anything with the spot.
HEAVEN: Now on this heaven thing. I think people are so selfish when it comes to heaven. I mean when something "inferior" life form like some little bird for an example dies.. No one cares does the little bird go to heaven or dont think it does.. And thats when we come to my whole point: Why do we humans think we are so special that heaven is for us.. Why doesnt little birds, bugs and shit diserve to go to heaven. It is us human that doesnt diserve it since there are people who just born evil but still most "bad" and "evil" animals just following their instincts. So my conclusion is when you die theres nothing. No heaven, no sweet dreams, no black.. Just nothing.

I might have gone little to off topic on this one but I was bored

Obviously you don't know anything about the Bible or someone told you the false facts about it.
I know that it's a old book that's been translated into many different languages.

You know when you spread rumors and it goes around a group of people. When the rumor comes back to you it's a diffferent version because people twist things.

I know I can't trust the news or papers. I know I can't trust a history book. What's so different about a Bible? Because somebody told you that it's a holy book? It's all written by people with agendas.

I understand where you're coming from.

If a kid grows up with a book full of anti-american propaganda, then that kid is most likely going to end up hating America.

If a kid grows up with a Bible and is taught to respect the Holy Book, then that kid will most likely going to end up having respect for the book and will trust the book over anybody.

I could go on forever.

I think this thread is pointless for one reason...

You can speculate about things you can possibly support by evidence and research (using the scientific method) but... saying how we will look in Heaven.. if there is a Heaven.. when we die?

bleh, go do something more productive with your time.

^Society is also controlling peoples minds. Man -made laws are also controlling peoples notions of rights and wrongs.

I really wonder where you read that quote, thought it was deep and thought you'd post it as relevant here without any delibaration!
