i dont agree. Loved GTA IV. fantastic game imo.

really looking forward to this
Tbh when i first got GTA IV i loved it, but for me the fun factor was missing, I had so many gripes with the game, the fact that just punching someone would get the police after you (which Rockstar apparently will change for the new GTA), even though the cops were also easy to deal with, the cop chases never had the same feel as the PS2 GTA's, theres some fantastic things about IV but I just could never get into it, the game seemed rushed, the city was the same, each island was basically the same, not enough diversity.

The random phone calls were annoying, the fact that you couldn't buy any property made having so much money pretty much pointless. In a lot of ways they went backwards from San Andreas, from the customisation of the character, the transport available and the severity of the police.

The game is very good, but I never found it as fun as SA or Vice City. I never liked the main character either. I don't want to be a 40 year old Flipmo.

There was some good points obviously, I liked the new features they implemented. But it was probably the first Grand Theft Auto since the first ever one that I got bored of after a month. I can normally play them for months and in the case of SA about 7 years :D

See, if that stuff there is true, then damn. This will be hours of fun to be had.
There's a few reports that the main guy is Mexican though, some think its Tommy Vercetti but everyone from the previous GTA games died apparently.

The recession will be the main story so I'm guessing it could be some poor guy recruited by that rich looking fella in the trailer to do missions for him or something.

- His name is written as "Niko Bellic" ... we don't have double letters in our names like 2 Ls one after the other, or 2 S', etc
- Some of the names of his relatives, I've never heard in the region before. The likes of Roman, or Florian...
- I'm assuming he's Serbian as he says in the game that he speaks and reads Serbian, and his mother's name was Milica which is known Serbian female name.
- There are small hints relating to Croatia, but nothing substantial...

For the most part, I'm assuming he's a Bosnian Serb, or a Croatian Serb that took part in paramilitary attacks on Bosnian villages.
I don't know why they decided to keep everything ambiguous, maybe in order to be lazy with character creations... for the most part, generally speaking, it's pretty authentic, the character even dresses similar to bum-like Balkans, so that's refreshing.

That being said - San Andreas fucking rocked cocks.

it's great that the city is bigger and more realistic, but for people who don't have much time for gaming anymore you have to stop and think, 15 minutes driving to a destination could be better spent by playing a game on FIFA or a few goes on Fight Night.

however, i need to start playing GTA IV. I think i will get V when the hype has died down.
