To be honest, I am not impressed with GTA4. It isnt that great at all, San Andrea's was more fun because of the territory control and gym and getting fat. But Vice City is still the best one out of all of them with the ability to buy buildings and wage war against the military. So far GTA4 is kind of boring, Im never low on cash because theres nothing to really buy, and I miss being able to work out and stuff like that.

Sure the graphics are nice, but it just seems like a lot of the fun and features have taken a step backwards.

The only saving grace for me is multiplayer on xbox live.

I swear the driving annoys the living fuck outta me!!! I mean fuck i know they tried making it a little more realistic but fuck i bought a GTA game not Gran Turismo!

I like the driving, now I've got used to it.

The story can be a little flat, and a lot of the missions I've done so far are very similar, but it's still a great game.

nothing very distinctive about the three islands i've seen so far. i agree with the others so far, it's a good game and all, but if i wanted to be picky i could, and i couldn't have said the same about san andreas when that came out.

does the ps3 triggers in the controller suck in this game as much as in other racing games like gt5? They are fucking inaccurate! They have like 2 or 3 depression sensing levels in opposition to really accurate xbox triggers. I'm so used to the xbox triggers. PS3 trigger buttons fucking suck! When I tried to accelerate I pressed them slightly and it was cool but when I pressed them just a bit deeper my car started to fully accelerate. This is so uncomfortable.

I'm happy with it so far. I can drive good. The key on the 360 is to use A when you turn and kinda drift a little. I'm 25% complete.

im at 29%. the turning is a lot more difficult in this game and i don't know how much i like that, but for everything, i think the targeting system in this game is ten times better than before.

You shoulda got the 360. You picked a worse playing experience (worse controller, worse online, no extra downloadable content) in exchange for a couple less pop ups.

A lot has been said about the driving in this game, it's just more realistic. In previous GTA's you could take a lot of corners without even breaking, the key in this game is to apply the breaks earlier.

For turning on the 360 turn hard while pressing A and the left trigger, thats both of the breaks, you'll slide and slow a bit then just let go and power out of it. Takes a little getting use to so you dont completely stop or over slide but you'll get the hang of it.

I actually think the driving is a lot better like this.

Everything that is in the game is better than it used to be, I just think they left too much out.

Also now that we are all playing, please dont spoil the plot for others, if you need to say something regarding the story use a big ****SPOILER**** warning...

I just seriously cancelled my order just because of those wack ass dual shock 3 trigger buttons. They suck incredibly.

I'm thinking about getting me a modded 360 Arcade which is exactly 2 times cheaper but that means no online play. It's so cheap that it's worth buying just for gta 4/other racing games and better triggers.
Then when the ps3 gets a bit cheaper I'll probably get it for online fun and better exclusives. That way I'll have both consoles for the same money.

Isnt there some new 360 chip that lets you mod it and still play Live?

yeah it's the newest flash+stealthpatching backups, but every time you log in there's still a 1% risk of getting banned. Also you'll never know when will they find out about the newest mod and ban it too. It's a bit stupid as technically it's not even illegal but M$ can ban you anyway.
I will play online anyway, till I get banned :D
360 arcade is like 300$ now (ps3+gta4 - 800$) so anyway it's worth it for offline gaming. I will also get gta4 either way.

I'd take an unmodde 360 for live and then alternatively mod it later. Game additions and shit is not the only benefits you get from Xbox Live/Playstation Network. There's also updates to your games. I have had two updates to Call Of Duty for example, and I don't remember how many others. Fifa 08 had to be updated before playing, same with NFS ProStreet and Skate. Fixing a few bugs in a game can seriously improve the gaming experience. Also, you spoke of GTA and racing games, and those games can be played solo, but most games have ten times the longevity if you can play them online after finishing solo play.

What do you mean by trigger buttons? The analog controllers ('joysticks')? I haven't played so much Xbox that I really can make a comparison without trying it again, but I never had a problem with the PS3 controller. If anything, it is more arcade than the super-precise Xbox controller which you need a tech engineer course to operate. Okay not really and I realize I just paved the way for stupidity jokes, I'm just saying that the old arcade machines had one joystick and two buttons and neither were pressure sensitive. If anything, I like that the PS3 controller isn't as precise as the Xbox one. It is more in line with the concept of arcade gaming.

Edit: It also doesn't hinder me in any way. MS and Sony should work to find a way to cross their online solutions, not have a competition. Now that would be big business.
