that's basketball, not football...less of an impact if there are 22 people on the field regularly than if there are 5

Vikings will not only do better than 8-8 (which is what they were last year with Moss), they will win the division.

I don't see how you guys are already doubting the Vikings. They haven't even played a game yet, and they're being dis-counted.

And I'm glad the Pats won.. I can't stand the Gayders

I'm not discounting them I just don't see how a team could lose their best player and be a better team for it. They'll do well this year, probably win their division like AmerikazMost said, but that'll be it. They'll be destroyed by the Eagles. I only started this anyway because saint33 seems to believe the Vikes are gona go all the way this season, and I don't see that happening

They're not better for losing Moss. They just improved more elsewhere than they lost at WR.

And the Vikings def. won't win the Superbowl. Second round of the playoffs at best.

You must admit though the Raiders were pretty impressive. The Pats were solid last night and the Raiders hung in there. Once there defense gets on the same page they will be fine. Its not like they wont make the playoffs anyway. Raiders bitch.

^ they won't lol

San Diego'll win the division, and the Jets/Pats and the Bengals will get the Wild Card

It's hard to pick the AFC this year though. So many equally talented teams. It all depends who has the heart.

thats because they totally improved on defense, which was horrible last year

didnt they make the NFC Championship twice with Moss? thats the standard

what was the score the year they played the Giants? 41-0? Moss was a big help there.

How important is Moss to the team if they can have a better season without him? Moss i the best WR in the NFL in my opinion, but he's not critical to the success of Minnesota.

Ok i wish i had seen this thread earlier. Devious, ur totally 100% wrong. A good defense beats a good offense 9/10 times. gettin rid of Moss didnt help them, but the other moves they made did. Ther defense is the best its been in years. they hav a pontentially strong running game, if Bennet plays like he used to, or Mewelde Moore could also be a strong RB. Also, ther loss of moss didnt kill ther passing game. Nate Burleson, Marcus Robinson, Travis Taylor, rookie Troy Williamson. all 4 r strong recievers. With Culpepper, who is the 3rd best QB in the league, if not better, they'll do fine. I think Dante proved he didnt need Moss in the preseason, 36 completions for 520 (2nd best in the league) and only 1 pick. Plus now they don hav to focus more on football and not havin to put up wit the childish behavior of Moss. Not only will the Vikings win ther division, they will make it to the NFC championship (asuming no major injuries, or jus a rilly bad game). Sur losing Moss may hav hurt ther passing game, but not by that much. And they've made enough changes in other places, where they actually needed help, and r one of the top teams. But of course we'll hav to wait for the season to find out wut happens

Here's my prediction for the Vikings: 10-6, which will probably win their division, but they will lose in the divisional. And if by some major fluke they do make it to the conference final, Philadelphia will bitch slap them like they did last year, or the Falcons will take care of them, depending on which one of those teams make it to the conference. The Vikes making it to the Super Bowl is just a pipe dream for you my friend.

That's what I'm saying too. But you can't compare his importance to Kevin Garnett's.

And Devious, what about Carolina? A lot of people are picking them to get to the Super Bowl or even win it, and you don't even mention them.

That's because they are not one of my picks. I guess I should mention them, since there's a good possibility they will be there. OK then, the Panthers would kill the Vikes as well

I agree with the "Fuck you raiders" part but I am glad they lost!!

Randy Moss is a joke! he is good for one TD a game and that is it!
Fucking BUM can't go over the middle to save his cock.

Culpepper's good, no doubt. But the recievers he's throwing to are the ones you have to worry about, and there's no one on that team that comes close to Moss in recieving skills. I guess we'll just have to wait and see
Moss is overated these days! he is not Versatile.

Have you ever seen the guy play? Apparently not considering how you're talking about him. His stats for his first 7 years are comparable to Jerry Rice in his first 7 years, but he ain't shit

I actully used to be a HUGE Moss fan, but he is SOFT, if he could do something other then JUMP and run down field then he would be the shit!

Randy will get a TD every game but when it comes down to it he can be shut down.

Playing for the Raiders he will never Catch Rice in the Record books.

He is a waste of talent.

Well any reciever can be shut down, I have yet to see a reciever who can't, that doesn't make Moss any worse as a reciever. Even Jerry could be shut down. I honestly don't believe he will catch Rice in the record books, but I don't see anybody catching Rice anyway, at least not any time soon. I only used him as a comparison because their stats are fairly similar
