Many theories behind it. The one I stuck with was the sponsors. When a goal is scored, that's the moment for the main sponsor logo on the shirt to be seeing for the longest possible time. Take the shirt off and there goes free the advertising time. FIFA reached an agreement with sponsors.
Well, nearly correct. Its because the FIFA doesnt want a player having some kind of political statement on his shirt or shit like that.

Plus, they think its time consuming if the player needs to take his shirt on again and they dont want to take anything away from the 90 minutes like that. You know, tactical shit, like pretending to be hurt and rolling over the pitch etc.

Barcelona shouldve been 3-0 up at half time. Meh 2-2 is a good result for Barca, no Pique or Puyol but no Fabregas...interesting stuff for the 2nd leg.

Arsenal have a great chance now with Puyol and Pique out.

I take back what i said about Alves having improved alot as a defender. The reason i said that was because he looked ok in la liga matches but then again he wasnt really being tested. He was tested alot tonight however. He is a real weak link as he was last season. I always thought that him being suspended for the final was a blessing in disquise for Barcelona. im not doubting his ability going forward though.

No way was it a sending off for Puyol.

Cracking game for a neutral, it was never a red card though.

The tie pretty much hangs in the balance I reckon, obviously Barca have the advantage, away goals and being at home but they miss their two 1st choice centre backs. Theres no reason Arse cant win at the Nou Camp.

While you may be right about Puyol, when you're that close to the keeper and the player drops the ref seems quicker to point to the spot. It's a shame, but it happens all the time.

It was a penalty, but definitely not a red card.

It's one of those fouls where it's just enough to call a foul (and it happened to be in the box), but not enough for a card.

I think that the ref just thought on the spot that he pushed him, which would have been a red card, so he just gave it to him. The refs were average during the whole match.

I watched the last 10 minutes because the last Bosnian player in the CL came on for CSKA.

CSKA were good enough. 1-0 away is a good result. It's never easy to win in Russia, so the Goulash lovers have their chances.

I watched a bit of it. It was very equal throughout the match. For most of the game the possession was at 50-50. Inter just had the extra quality to go through. I heart Milito. :)

Inter still have to head to Russia, which is not an easy task for any team.

What your opinion on those reasons, Sebastian?
Well, i dont wanna see any political statement or crap like that on the shirt so i agree with that part.

However, if someone wants to rip off his jersey cause he just scored then let him do it. I dont see a problem with that.

Puyol denied a goal scoring opportunity. That is a red card no matter which way you look at it.

Arshavins injury was a blessing in disguise for us. The guy came into this game with a casual approach again and just doesn't seem dedicated anymore..

Fabregas is a fucking soldier though. He was clearly stuggling in with an injury but he refused to come off the pitch. The boy wanted to fight to the very end. An Arsenal legend already ;)
