Sailing left for a few miles before bumping into Canada isn't exactly a huge achievement.
Of course it is. I'd see you try it and then we'll talk. ;). Not to mention they took the hardway :fury:

When i saw the topic i thought i remembered something about viking settlements on North America, and i was able to find this qoute via google :

"In 986 Bjarni Herljufson discovers Vinland, which will be explored by Leif Eriksson. The expeditions multiply. Vikings establish villages. Nobody deny anymore, today, that viking's " vine land" was North America.
What is less known, and less admited, is that vikings also landed at South America. This is demonstrated by linguistic and toponymic ascertainments. Conquistadors even found a white indians tribe."

I read an article a little while ago about how they were finding some Inuits (Eskimos) up norh with europeanish features, such as blond hair, some with white looking faces. They later found out a few nomad viking ships had landed in the area many years before and had integrated with the society. And this was way before Culumbus came.
