Creatine

I used creatine for three months without noticing any difference in gains, I didn't even gain the water weight that supposedly comes with creatine use. I've heard that a small percentage of people are so called creatine non-responders, and I guess I'm one of them. What I've heard about creatine from other people into weightlifting and bodybuilding have only been positive though, seems like most find it a safe, effective supplement.

Creatine works sometimes, adds water weight so you can work out longer or something like that. If you use more than 5 grams (i think, it should say on the bottle) a day you'll suffer kidney damage. If you eat a lot of meat you shouldn't really be taking it since creatine is usually found in red meat.

What about that loading phase shit man? They say that for 3-6 days you should load up (about 20-30 grams per day) and then take it slow and do 5 per day after that. Should the loading phase be skipped and just go straight into the maintenance phase?

Don't bother loading it is proven to make no difference to just taking the maintenance dose, so you'll be wasting your money,

Creatine has never been proven to cause any short term or long term damage and any reports that say that it does are just scare mongering,

And it is true that creatine doesn't work for 30% of people that use it, so there's only one way to find out... try it for yourself,

Me personally I took it and it had minimal effects, I'm gonna give it another try next week for a month just to see for once and for all if it doesn't work for me, peace

^true, there are absolutely no side effects of creatine.Rumours of kidney damage were started by anti-creatine critics, which is pretty lame as they had absolutely nothing to back up their claims. There has been 0 cases of creatine side effects.

The creatine loading bullshit was started by supplement companies trying to make more money. They figure, hey,if you use more creatine, you'll end up buying more creatine, meaning more money for them.More does not equal better results. The body cannot take in more than 5 grams a day.Take it right after a workout,or on non workout day, take it on an empty stomach.Make sure to take it everyday and don't miss one day, this is very important. You can use it continuously without the need to cycle it,its totally safe.

Another thing that comes to mind is,what type of creatine are you using? There were tests on creatine quality from different companies and alot of the creatine from these companies showed that the mix contained absolutely no creatine at all or small traces.Maybe thats why some people dont see a difference in performance.

Please don't use cell-tech from muscletech, its overpriced and the technology is old.You might see these ads in every single muscle mag,so their overprice is due to these ads. This shit also causes bloating and stomach aches.Considering the amount of sugar per serving, this will fuck you up.Your insuline will spike, and once this happens you will feel dizzy, weak and extremely hungry.

Liquid creatine is also crap.It is known that creatine is not stable in a liquid state and converts to creatinine which is poisonous.

I can make 2 recommendations from experience.I've tried a whole bunch of different creatine products over the years, and these are the most effective.

1.V-12 turbo by S.A.N.
There is absolutely no sugar or calories in this mix. They have so many different flavours, such as orange, grape,or fruit punch. The taste is absolutely amazing, considering it doesnt even have sugar.I would mistake it for regular juice. This mix also contains abunch of amino acids and some arginine(NO2).The tub lasts about 2 months at 5 grams a serving. You can't go wrong with this.

I was using v-12 turbo until this new product came around. It's called Green bulge. This is the best creatine supplement you can ever buy.It uses a new form of creatine called CEE (Creatine ethyl ester). Its basically creatine monohydrate(which is the creatine in every other creatine supplement) but its attached to an ester. This ester will provide the most absolute absorption you can have of creatine without any water retention or bloatedness. This comes in pill form and also contains Arginine which will increase your nitric oxide(vasodilator). You better believe protein synthesis will skyrocket. I give this supplement 10/10 no doubt.

I think this stuff definately works. I went to the gym 3 times a week this summer, and when I took creatine, I could do more reps and workout longer. When I forgot to for some reason, I may do 5 reps of something instead of my usual 10. I'd recommend it :thumb:

I'm going to start using the creatine monohydrate stuff. Thanks for all the info bigmack, I'll be sure to ask you about this shit later on too, lol.

yea in such small amounts.you would have to consume at least 20-30 lbs of red meat to get the amount of creatine you would get from a scoop of a creatine supplement. It is highly unnatural for humans to eat that much red meat a day.

aha creatine is THE shit.. just lookin at photos of myself when i was on it and i can hardly believe it :D my whole upper body got pretty big, but once u stop taking it, the water retention in your muscles goes away so your not really as big as you think..

i just started taking it today again, i tend to use the loading phase for 4 or 5 days regardless of what people say, i dont really care about the extra money im wasting..

what i did find the biggest advantage was when i was on it last year was you know what your limits are when lifting weights and youre CERTAIN you cannot lift anymore.. then the creatine kicks in and takes over and you push out those extra 2-3 reps :D

so once you stop using creatine, the results pretty much fade away or what?
listen, this is how creatine works.it pushes water into your muscles.what this means is you will be able to lift heavier and do more reps.Lifting heavier and doing more reps will make you gain more muscle. When you stop using the creatine, all the water that was in the muscles will go away. You will be left with the gains of real muscle that you had with using creatine. You might not lift as heavy as when you were on creatine since you dont have that extra water to help you leverage.None the less, when you are finished a creatine cycle, you will have more muscle than not using creatine in that time.

^ correct.. just dont let the water fool u in thinking youve gotten huge only to stop taking creatine to see the water disappear

oh and one more thing, if u want the biggest hang over of your life and you want to be spewing up all day, take some creatine before you go out and drink lots of alcohol :)

That is absolute rubbish I know people that have used 15g a day for a couple of weeks who have perfectly healthy kidneys. Find me a scientific report to back up your findings and I will believe you. The main danger with creatine is going on it for too long, I recommend 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off to prevent acute creatine toxicity within the blood.

nah man, even if you take it for a long time, you will not suffer any kind of toxicity, even when megadosing.the reason for this is because the body will not accept for than 5 grams average a day.try taking in more creatine, and that shit will go straight to your urine.

Is it safe to take if I'm not lifting, but am running everyday in practice?
for running,it will increase your indurance thats for sure, but at the same time it will slow you down because of the water weight you'll be putting on.

and yes its safe to take when you're not lifting.same dosage is perfectly fine
