Villarreal v Arsenal Champs League semi-he bottled it.
Argentina v Germany World Cup quarter final-He bottled it.

I think he is over rated in the sense that some people labled as the best player in the World. He is very talented but has achieved little in his career outside Boca Juniors. If a player plays for Boca as long as he has, they will no doubt win alot of things in Argentina and South America. What has achieved in Europe? What has he achieved for Argentina national team?So in that sense he is over rated.
If anything in that match, Riquelme failed with his freekicks, but that goes with the height issue also, the likes of Alex don't get outjumped ever.
I agree.

I dont get this ridiculus statement that people make out saying he bottled the Germany match. He was subsituted when Argies were winning, how could he bottle a game when he was subsistured after an hour and missed extra time and the shootout? So please explain how he bottled that game.

Vs Arsenal he played exceptionally well, he missed the penalty and it seems people just latch onto that, not the fact he ran the game and Forlan missed about 3-4 great chances and an open goal.

Saying Riquelme is a bottler after really one incident is pretty harsh.

Argentina have won nothing since 1995. As a team they lose it.

Actually you are right about the Germany game.He shouldnt have been taken off.I got mixed up.I remember the game now.

As for the Arsenal game, i recall that he was rubbish in the first leg of that game and was ok in the second leg and then missed the penalty.

Yea i agree though, its unfair to label him a bottler, but the Argentina team are.

I still think he is over rated though but i do like Riquelme.
