WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded a companion during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, spraying the fellow hunter in the face and chest with shotgun pellets. Harry Whittington, a millionaire attorney from Austin, was "alert and doing fine" in a Corpus Christi hospital Sunday after he was shot by Cheney on a ranch in south Texas, said Katharine Armstrong, the property's owner.

are you ignorant? hunting accidents like this happen all the time. are you judging a person based on a two sentence story? a story that for some reason isnt even telling things that Katharine Armstrong, the propery owner, has told other news outlets

to say cheney is an asshole in this situation is implying that he did it on purpose.

A lot of hunting accidents ive heard about have occured when a gun backfires.

if you getting your info from this source no you dont know what happend but i heard, the woman who i named early, describe pretty well what happend in an interview earlier today. like i said before, these 2-3 sentences arent telling you everything. i got more info from a 20 second news brief on a.m. radio than i did from that crappy ass report that was posted.

people out hunting sometimes dont wear the proper gear, or in this case, the old man got in the line of fire.
