looks like the conservatives and the bloc are going to try to get an early election, if they doesn't succeed there will be an election 30 days after the Gomery report is complete according to Paul Martin. Who will you vote for?

Liberals:

Pros - 8 years of suplus economy, pro-gay marriage, created highest job creation in the G7, backs the canadian health plan

Cons - sponsership scandal, taxes

Conservatives:

Pros - May lower taxes, wants to add more money into the military.

Cons - against gay marriage, pro war and missle defense.

NDP (New democratic party):

Pros - very enviromental, in the house of commons they seem to actually want something done.

Cons - may be TOO enviromental, too left wing.

Bloc Quebecois (the Bloc):

Pros - concentrates on Quebecs needs

Cons - doesn't care much about the rest of canada, seperatists

btw i'm going to vote Liberal. Last time i almost voted for NDP but since the polls said it was such a close election between libs and cons i went with libs. Sponsership scandal worries me, but won't change my vote because the libs have done too many good things over the past few years to be smeared by a (pretty small) scandal. Do i want to change my vote because of the scandal for no gay marriage? or for missle defense? No thanks.

Some might question rating pro-gay marriage and "wants to add more money into the military" as pros (I don't for the latter, but might for the former).

Canada's liberal government is one of the main reasons I love it, don't take that away from me.

well the liberals are adding money to the military as well, many want the military to get bigger for peace keeping and humanitarian missions, but we can't because the lack of equipment.

A majority of Canadians are pro gay marriage, thats why i put it as a pro for liberals and a con for conservatives.

I chose the Bloc Quebecois, just because they are separatists ;)

The BQ was created for Quebec's 95 referendum....it's useless now...

i'm going to vote Lib. not because I like them, i'm voting against them dumb ass Cons.

I really don't want to vote Liberal, they treat us citizens like we're complete idiots. Like Paul Martin knew nothing about the sponship scandal, he was the Finance Minister for fuck's sake, isn't that his job? So either he's a liar or he's completely incompetent. And now they are trying to buy the election by making all these funding promises, knowing that if they aren't elected that money probably won't be spent. At the same time, I don't really like any of the other options out there, so I don't know who to vote for.

Definitely. Not only that, but he was the owner of Canada Shipping Lines while he was finance minister. During that time they were doing tons of business with the government which is a conflict of interest (that's why he gave up ownership when he became PM). But even worse, he claimed they did like several hundred thousand dollars worth of business, but it turned out it was like ten times that. So same deal, he's either lying or he's incompetent as finance minister and owner of the business.

The conservatives haven't given me any reason to vote for them and several not to, so I'll vote NDP.

Ok Ok, who voted BQ?

Cmon now, they just wanna seperate from Canada, they don't care about anything else in this country.

I'd go for Liberals, even though that scandal, the backing up of the Health Plan is more important, and anything to keep to the Block out of power. :D

well in a recent poll in quebec theres a higher number of seperatists then before because of the sponsership scandal. More seats could go to the bloc next election

Man I wish I could vote but too bad I cant. The Bloc is a stupid political party. NDP is where its at. The liberals are run by the fucking NDP.
like i said, the Bloc was created for the 1995 referendum...they should have erased it after...altho, quebecers liked them and wanted to be represented by someone in Canada...

Yes the number of separatists is bigger than ever in Quebec...and unlike in 1995, imigrants are going to vote Yes too :)

like me :D

But i personally think that Quebec is better in Canada :)

YET I'LL VOTE YES TO PISS ONTARIANS OFF :D

cool someone thought about making a thread about us and all. anyways i vote liberals corrupt or not cause bloc wants to seperate and if that happens i swear it'll be like ww3 here....

anyways regardless i vote them...

conservative used to be my 2nd choice but i don't like what they are putting on the table now.

liberals always been choice #1 and now even more...just hope if they win they follow through with what they promised.

Wow, I can't believe that so many people here are still willing to vote liberal, after they ripped us off and wasted our money then lied about it. I mean, all political parties will probably try to rip us off, but this was unbelieveable what these guys tried to get away with. Personally I won't vote liberal, but I guess it won't matter since everyone else will vote for them anyway
