^It's because most people pre-order this game. The Modern Warfare series has become so insanely popular that no one doubts the quality of the game. Also, it's all about multiplayer. The series keeps surviving because the users believe that no one will play the last one anymore online so they have to get the new one. My two cents, anyway. I think all of this shit is stupid. They have guys online right now who've triple prestiged and shit. The game's been out for like a week. That's insane. You ever watch someone who plays this game a lot play it? It's scary to watch. It's like watching a robot. There's not much strategy or waiting involved. It's just running around shooting and throwing grenades into places you expect people to be hiding and shit. I mean, obviously, you can see who's good and who's not very fast, but it's because those who are good have played so much they're straight up on automatic. Again, like robots.
I agree with this. My nephew got it and so did all his friends. I don't even know if they play it offline lol.

lol I love how you all talking shit and non of you have played it. Rediculous. SOFI seems to think that the only game mode is Deathmatch.

I think alot of you should really keep your mouths closed, not just about this topic, but alot of things. You're all very psuedo-geeky without actually being part or taking part of the things you talk about.

And people wonder why I flip out some times....

I've played (passed campaign, tried multiplayer) of MW2, Black Ops and now MW3. Only because it takes a few hours to pass.
My opinion of all of those games is very low, but MW3 is like MW2 plus some minor changes that only MW2 and BO enthusiasts would care about and it's pretty much a fact.
Campaign is still equal to scripted and incredible limited "shooting whatever moves" without any thinking or freedom - you still can't even leave the predefined path.

Which doesn't change the fact that my opinion wouldn't be any different if I haven't played MW3, it's enough to see the game, or hear facts to have an opinion since it has no story that you have to experience to understand.
The only thing that you can truly experience is that people playing MW multiplayer are probably the worst online community there is. You think of those annoying, screaming kids - you have them on MW. It even beats the GTA community.
I was also a bit disappointed with BF3 but if you compare communities playing these 2 series it's like day and night.

Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops and MW3 are a phenomenon like Halo. And this comes from a person who quite enjoyed Halo:Reach multiplayer at some point and back then I would also defend that game, that's also why I didn't want to criticize COD publicly, because you won't get your point across here, even if you have one.
But reality is, that Halo is very dull like MW's multiplayer. Both of them are very average games gaining huge fan-base with multiplayer that sucks some people in for whatever reason, because it appears to be fun. Because it has a lot of people playing which creates a specific atmosphere. However the game is average at best. First Call of Duty games were ambitious. Now it's just mindless, scripted and limited shooting at whatever moves.

What is the point of "freedom" and "leave the predefined path" when you have a story to follow. You don't pick up a Harry Potter book and read a chapter on how Harry went to the local grocer to buy a few potatoes for a nice stew he is planning on cooking. Why? Because what the fuck has that got to do with the story? Absolutley nothing, so why include it when there is no need for it? If I wanted to run around a big open space like a twat, do little side missions or whatever, I'd be playing GTA, or at worst WoW.

But no, I play this game because the MW Story line is brilliant and original. I play the multiplayer because I play with my friends. I don't have to put up with annoying kids because, surprise surprise, theres a mute button. Now that COD:Elite has intergrated a good clan system, we're competing in events.

I don't know where this "mindless shooting" is coming from. Have you actually played anything other than deathmatch? Theres many objective game modes that require strategic play.

I've been on the FPS Multiplayer scene since CS1.6, I've played everything, Team Fortress, Battlefield, SWAT, etc etc etc. Out of them all Call of Duty has been the best series.

Every one in my clan is over 30 except me, and i'm pretty close to that myself. We take playing as a team seriously.

Maybe thats why you don't have fun playing online, you're playing with the wrong people.

EDIT: ALSO THE BATTLEFIELD SERIES, OTHER THAN BF2, SUCKED ASS. ANYTHING THAT EA IS INVOLVED WITH IS A FAIL.

Dude, relax. I don't see anyone talking shit. All I said was I personally can't get into these kind of games and I was surprised at how much it costs for the hardened version. Who/what were you talking about in the second paragraph btw?

Most people play deathmatch from my experience. And I'm not talking out of my ass, I have two Modern Warfare games.

I've been on the FPS Multiplayer scene since CS1.6, I've played everything, Team Fortress, Battlefield, SWAT, etc etc etc. Out of them all Call of Duty has been the best series.
wow. you're lame. lol. no offense, that does not sound cool at all.

Every one in my clan is over 30 except me, and i'm pretty close to that myself. We take playing as a team seriously.
they take playing a PS3 GAME, at age 30+, as a team, seriously? wow, you guys are awesome.

Maybe thats why you don't have fun playing online, you're playing with the wrong people.
As I've stated before, I don't have fun playing online because everyone is too damn good because they play the game too damn much. But I'm fine with that. I sound bitter but I do have time to play all day like the other dudes. But it doesn't seem enjoyable to me. I'd rather read a book or watch a TV show.

Death Match and Free For All are the lamest games, theres no objective other than to kill. But thats 2 game modes, there are plenty others.

I didn't intend to sound cool, but I also don't see how that I've played a variety of games makes me lame?

No, we play as a team seriously. We play at competition level, while that maybe geeky, its profitable if when you win prizes.

On the same note, you don't have to spend all day every day playing to be good. I don't, I work more hours than I care for, and I still have a good social life. I travel up and down the country every week because I work for the Boxing Association. I still read books and watch Movies. Point is, I don't spend a huge amount of time playing video games. Max I play is 3 hours a day.

I wasn't referring to you, don't worry.

By the way, Hardened Edition is worth the money, though I didn't pay £90, only £70. The Hardened Edition included Elite Premium Membership, that entitles me to free DLCs so I don't have to buy them. Considering the prices of Map packs, I saved money.

My beef with COD now is that it snuffed its PC community. After MW2, they put a greater emphasis on consoles, well eat my shit - without the PC community Activision wouldn't be bringing in the cheddar. Same for the whole COD Elite, it's not even available to the PC community yet. So blow me mofos. I have every COD game, even got Black Ops only because Treyarch was working on it. Even at that, wasn't too satisfied with the outcome.

I've been playing Red Orchestra 2 as of late anyways, minus the silly bugs, its probably the most realistic WW2 shooter I've ever played, but that's another topic for another day.

I didn't think you were but I wanted to make sure :) I think everybody knows I don't really talk about things I don't know much about lol. That's what my cousin said, that getting the hardened edition is cheaper than buying all the maps individually. Makes sense.

You've been my tech head since you introduced me to the Sidekick. I have no quibbles with your opinions.

On another note, I was playing a couple of nights ago, and through a total act of randomness, I ended up in a game with DJ Harris, an old member from here for those who don't remember. He recognized my name. Small World.

campaign is good so far. halfway through it.

im bored of the multiplayer. its effectively a map pack for mw2. and the maps arent very good. there is a problem with the spawning as well.

must preferred Black Ops tbh

finished the campaign. was brilliant i thought. really enjoyed it and a big improvement on MW2.

i have had enough of multiplayer already though. The maps are shit and it just bores me. Im back playing Battlefield 3 now. much more enjoyable imo

IGN had a public vote for best shooter of the year. BF3 won by a landslide... 51%. MW3 got something like 19%

Mainly because Lens flares and graphic filters make things pretty. EA are the Apple of the video games world. Make an average product, then market the fuck out of it too make it the coolest thing in the world.

All the video game bloggers have got bored of playing BF3 now, the upload of BF3 content to Machinima is so low, you're lucky to find a random video.

If the game was really that good, and "waaaaaaay better than MW3", it would still be buzzin.

The game is still buzzing for the PC community, a lot more than MW3. The only people I personally know that have bought MW3 are console enthusiasts.

Fuck I.W though, backstabbed the community that made them.
