so out of everything I posted you take that one sentence and that's it? That's weak man, there are a many more points u should discusse, even though you don't like it.
i trust that when such measures are used, it's after a thorough background check and interrogation. i trust that there is a VERY certain suspicion there before the torture measurements we are discussing are taken to use.
now if this isn't the case in guantanamo and that random people are tortured, we are not talking about the same thing anymore. if they just torture anybody and everybody they capture "just to make sure", i don't condone it. which is why i have made it clear a million times that if a group of people with good intuition feel absolutely certain that a person is withholding information that is a vital asset to protect the lives or freedom of more people, i am gonna trust that they know what they are doing. if they don't, my opinion changes accordingly. get it? this is all SPECULATIVE for me. i don't have the control to tell someone to torture someone, so this is not something i'll ever have to deal with. if there was some sort of worldwide "poll" to decide whether torture should be allowed on an international level i would of coursely vote no. but the case here is that certain terrorist suspects (no? i don't remember the original post anymore) or whatever are tortured using mild ways of torture that inflict more mental than physical pain if you ask me (as opposed to cutting and such) so they will give up information that is needed to protect a larger base of people or have justice served. the end justifies the means. that's what i believe. in any one case, if i'm ever handed one, i'll use my best judgment, and that's my best judgment in this case. i do not know all the details, maybe i'm being naive and if you can prove to me with video surveillance recordings that i am and that the torture going on there is groundless, i'll take back everything i said, but you can't. so it's my opinion against yours and i'm saying that i'm open for anything, but you have closed your mind on the one right.
keep in mind that we are all people who have lived equally long lives and through those lives experienced things that affect the opinions we form. so some people call me emo, now i'm suddenly this cruel people hater? come on dude. you are the one who needs to open your mind. i'm just saying i'm never gonna say "yes" or "no" to ANYTHING without feeling like i know the details that are important to me.
now, i wrote a long ass post but until you can prove to me that i'm completely wrong with sources, i won't change my opinion, therefore i see no point discussing on about this.
