animals living in captivity don't have to worry about predaters, i don't see whats so bad about it.
It's not natural, its part of life for them to get eaten but usually before that they are free to go wherever they please mostly.
Most animals are kept in small enclosures, think about it, Dolphins in captivity get that shitty sized pool, in the wild they get the entire ocean.

It is true, that some animal's are treated like slaves. I used to think that my next door neibours were wierd when they treated their dog like their own child, but I realized that it's not that, that was wierd. What was wierd was that I never saw anyone else with pets treating them like their own children.

If we don't treat pets like our own children, then they're slaves?

Anyhoo, Pam and PETA are at it again...

key line: The Canadian government and fishing communities insist they need the winter income.

Sorry, Pam, it ain't gonna happen.
It is ideal that if you adopt a pet, you treat it like one of you're own. But that doesn't mean they are a slave if you don't treat them like youre own child. But think about it this way, didn't you like it when you're parents treated you nicely as a child? And wouldn't you want to treat you're child nicely? So that's how it is with pets, or not even you're own pets, just with any living things in general. What I'm trying to say is treat everyone nicely, and if you have a pet, sure treat them like you're own child, but you're pet isnt considered to be a slave if you don't.

Don't worry Rahim, most people live by this simple equation.

Humans Have The Largest Emotional Capacity Of Any Living Being

+

Animals Have Less Emotional Capacity

=

Animals Have No Feelings

It's really easy to assume this since animals can't tell us that they have feelings.

I know animals have feelings, I've known that for a long time. But Rahim when you say we should treat our pets as our own child is asking for way too much, I wouldn't be surprised if PETA would've said something like that. You should've said we should treat our pets as friends/companions. Because there is no way in hell I would let my dog equal my son.

I agree. I mean it would suffice to say that we should treat animals like our neighbours or some unknown people, meaning that we're nice to them but they can't expect us to love them like our children. That's just crazy.

My Aunt treats her dogs like children, its very scary. But I think what Rahim is trying to say is treat them with respect if your going to own one make sure you take responsibility of shelter, food and vacinations etc like you would with a child. Not tuck little Killer into his own lil room in his own lil bed with his own lil blankie. :p

PETA is fuckin full of shit

this organization takes this ethical treatment of ANIMALS WAY TO FUCKIN FAR.

I am all for preserving endangered species cuz i honestly think that that sort of thing is needed but for these shitheads to go around trying to impose their stupid ass ideas of what is cruelty and what isnt on people is beyond me.

Chicken........ we eat them, cows........ we eat them...... pigs etc etc etc we fuckin eat them im all for killing them in a proper manner but come on GIVE IT A FUCKIN REST @ THAT u fuckin nuts.

Bottom line is, until animals stand up for themselves and demand their respect, I don't see a reason to give them any. I don't give mine away for free.
