Animal Testing

#2
It really depends on what for but my straight answer is yes.

I think that the use of animal testing for medical purposes, while not totally right, is acceptable.

When it comes to make-up & shit, no way!

Also, I would like to make the point that while I support it's use (in certain cases) I do think that there needs to be more emphasis placed on keeping the process as pain free as possible.

Should the government ban the use of animals in laboratory testing?
HELL no. If the death of a hundred rats can save the life of one human being, it's worthwhile.

Testing products on animals is obviously not as important, and should be avoided if possible, but I'd still rather have my shampoo tested on animals than have it burn my scalp off.

heres something a lot of you dont realise, i take part in some of that stuff, ive done lab tests on mice, etc, heres some info for you.

1. if an animal is used in a lab, it is normally born and raised for that purpose, much like some cows are raised for meat, or milk, thats why these animals are bred.

2. in larger scale tests a lot of the animals are sick, or are going to be put down to sleep anyway because they attacked someone, were strays, etc, so if the animal is going to be killed anyway, why not use it to save some lives?

I'd rather see them use humans than animals. I'm sure if animals were able to speak, they wouldn't want to be tested on.

I say we do tests on pedophiles and rapist.

Initially I would say it should be banned, but I one of my best friends now has a job where she conducts tests on rabbits and rats for medical purposes and she assures me that she makes it as pain free as possible by using pain killers and other drugs. Like other people said, there is a clear cut difference between experimentation for medical purposes compared to the not so necessary testing for mere cosmetic purposes. Also, another friend works for an animal protection authority, so I know that the real cruelty towards animals happens in people's backyards through neglect and abuse....that's what the government should really be concerned with.

yeah i agree, i don't agree with fucking scientists testing on poor animals just to make some bullshit product that will make woman's hair "fuller" or "shiny" like what the fuck.

so because they are born and raised for that purpose you can treat them how u want to treat them? having hundreds of chicken and put 10 together on one square meter to make more profit..its ok? is it that what u want to say?

Animal testing has really only come about from the need for mass consumer products. Companies are looking for more and more bullshit to see to the 'cattle'. In turn this creates mass consumer waste, whilst everyone these days seems to have the attitude that they can throw it away and someone else will come and pick it up and dispose of it. If I myself see waste and rubbish I do tend to pick it up and throw it in a bin. Or if it is my own rubbish then I religiously take care for the disposal. In addition to all this I haven't even mentioned the global warming affect being caused by industiral nations.
Back to the shampoo, well, do we really need it? YOur body has natural olis which replenish the scalp, this clean up process is aided by eating food products such as fish nuts. Both found naturally in nature. Instead we choose to feed on processed food made in a lab somewhere manufactured by people. Which in turn saps us from natural vitality. Shampoo can never have this affect. However, since everyone is content to be 'cattle', grazing amongst the consumer products in 'SUPER' markets, animals testing is needed to save ourselves from making matters worse than they already are!

no what im saying is that these animals would never be ALIVE if not for the breeding purposes..they are born in a lab, raised in a lab, these are free animals, we dont go out and catch wild animals in our back yards..

if dogs (rarely) and monkeys are used, most of them are ill, and are going to die anyway, not to mention these animals dont suffer one bit..

heres a better idea, if we got a new cancer drug, if one of your family members has it, well take them, even if they are doing well, inject them, and then if they die, you can blame yourself u want human testing, there you go, u have it.

im not saying that using animals is a-ok, but its the best alternative we have, the reasons i stated doesnt make it perfectly good, but i dont know many people who are willing ot be tested on an experimental drug, besides most animals used are mice more often than not...

everyone has their own views on it, but most speak arent educated on the topic or arent thinking properly..
