PSX4DROID, The Playstation Emulator;

So I got hold of the new Playstation emulator. First impression, not bad for a phone app. On my G1 the game is a tad laggy on most games, some games load at a just playable level such as GTA1 and FFVII. Not all roms loaded or loaded completely, for example FFVIII would not load and MGS got as far as the level difficulty screen.

That is however until we tested it on my friends HTC EVO 4G, most games ran smoothly, some which didn't run previously now did.

As with most good emulators on the market, it has bluetooth gamepad compatibility, so you can connect your wiimote and possibly your 360 controller (i think thats bluetooth).

Heres a video if you haven't seen it in action;

and finally, wanna try it, but not pay the $6? Heres the latest version; MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

forgot to mention you need the scph1001.bin file (psx bios), it can be found online, but if you have trouble finding it, pm and ill link you.

A good friend of mine got himself a new X10 Xperia. It's nice that it's Android and all but well, honestly I thought that I'd envy him more. There's nothing special about that phone. Even its screen despite being huge doesn't feel great. And yes, stock Android is better.

It was a justified choice because other high end Androids like Galaxy S and Desire were much more expensive on his plan and the X10 was free in a really nice offer.

Until a tablet can fully replace a laptop, I don't see it as a necessity for me. I would hope for better battery life and then just the same functionality as a laptop. Like being able to type documents. Which would probably mean a physical keyboard because touchscreen may be a bitch to deal with. Swype? I dunno. We'll see.

I've used swype before on my G1, haven't put i back on yet...but i worked really good, I was pretty damn surprised. For simple text entry I think it would work great. As far as typing whole pages or something not so much.

I haven't looked into this but I was wondering if anyone else knew anything. New battery technology. So many nice spec'd phones coming out but batteries are going to continue to suck til something new comes out. Anything?

^ "Rooted" is a big word because Samsungs are very easy to root/hack. Just connect the USB and flash.
A few clicks and you're done.
Usually you don't even have to wipe any data.
Rooted kernel packages for Samsungs are usually released before their corresponding official software releases and pack a lot of nice features and custom kernels. Because of that I believe that the Galaxy S root has been there since day 1. Unless there are some american versions with some protections that have to be bypassed. Carriers in America tend to do amazingly retarded things so I wouldn't be surprised.
