liverpool are being given deadlines to sign players from clubs only because liverpool are strapped for cash. therefore the selling clubs either want a done deal or to end the negotiations. they dont want negotiations to be prolonged like the neverending GB transfer saga, because it is not good for the selling club.

the selling clubs also dont want to be wasting any time pondering whether or not the buying club are going to make a move or not - i.e. wasting their time and having their players become unsettled. e.g. barry, berbatov etc...

^He was awesome for Espanyol (tailed off near the end of last season), couldve and quite shoudve been in the Euro 2008 Squad.
but he had some falling out with the club though didnt he?

in fairness there isnt a whole lot of Left wingers to choose from nowadays. and 9 million is bad if you consider that Sunderland are paying 8 million for Anton Ferdinand.

Yeah i read he was first choice over Silva in the qualifiers.. he had problems with the esp fans or something thats what hurt his chances at euros

I also read that a representative from Barca said when he plays good he is the second best winger in the world or something...

Pavyluchenko to Spurs? Seems an almost done deal, he showed flashes of quality at Euro 2008. Is this paving the way for Berbatov to move to Manchester United?

Yeah he can be awesome, he was great when Espanyol reached the UEFA Cup final and gave Daniel Alves one of his hardest games.

what do you make of this Vidic interview where he criticises the Manchester weather and way of life. he also said that he will move to Spain and the Man Utd is just a stepping stone. if he went he would be a massive loss to Man Utd. he is the main man in that defense.

he is - and it made me laugh when he said something about the main attraction in manchester being the train timetable to other cities. lol.

i hate bad weather too, so i understand where he's coming from. but for his career, staying at united would probably be the best thing. same thing goes for ronaldo.

Vidic's response to the interview:

But he feels compelled to clear up other comments attributed to him in the UK press, in which he supposedly said: "In Manchester the main attraction is a timetable at the railway station where trains leave for less rainy cities!

"In England people don't have time to feel the joy of life. Throughout the week they work so hard. They only talk to people at lunch. Then in the evening they watch TV so they can get up early for work the next day."

Nemanja told ManUtd.com: "I'd like to clarify that I did not make these particular remarks. I spoke about the difficulty I had settling in to life in Manchester, but that does not reflect how I feel now.

"I enjoy my life very much as a footballer at Manchester United and I'm very happy to be a part of this great club. I think I show that in the way I play every week. I also have far too much respect for the people of Manchester, and England, to criticise them in this way."

Vidic is Serbian not Russian but he did play in Russia before joining Man Utd(Spartak Moscow i think). it is colder but i think its the rain that bothers him. Turns out he was talking about when he first joined Man Utd.

Moscow is not the same as Manchester, it does not rain as much, and Vidic is a Serb as Bobby said. Where they have almost similar weather to Zagreb in Croatia. Nice summers, cooler winters.

I don't blame him, I'd probably put a bullet in my head if I lived in a city or country where it rained all the time.

Give me 60k a week and ill play naked in snow, he was playing in Russia when United put in a bid for him. I know I'd rather play in England than Russia.
