08/09 Premier League thread.

^^why wouldnt he go to Liverpool?

Keane said alot of things. Its probably in the papers over there. The usual bullshit really. im sick of it now tbh.

Fat Sam is upset that Sammy Lee got involved in the row between himself and Benitez. First of all Sammy Lee had no choice because he was asked a fucking question on it and second of all, didnt Alex Ferguson also get involved even though he has nothing to do with Blackburn?. This fat fucker makes me sick. I hope Blackburn go down and Burnely come up.

I just don't see it happening, and apparently Real Madrid are very interested on picking him up (have been for a while), and they probably wouldn't mind spending the money.

Edit: If he did go to Liverpool, I expect a very deadly Tevez/Torres duo up front

Yeah Liverpool is way in front of Real, but eh.. Most South Americans have this dream of playing for Real Madrid. Don't blame em though, who wouldn't want to play for Real.
Tevez is no different, especially with Raul and Nistlerooy showing some age. RM would want another young striker/goal scorer with Higuin and Hunterlaar in their ranks

I've been a huge fan of Tevez since he was at Boca, but I do not like how his game is now, I love the fact he chases and runs all day, but his actual footballing ability isn't on show as much, which is a shame because he has alot of it, hes a totally different player now to what he was. So hopefully a move to La Liga will show this off more.

^^you know, i never thought of Tevez as a workhorse type player before he joined Man Utd. Was he like that at the 06 WC? i cant remember. i always knew he was a very skillful player.

I remember Tevez said he put on weight to play in the Premier League and that he finds it hard to switch between how to play in England and how to play for Argentina, he wasn't as much of a workhorse as he is now, he was a good dribbler of the ball and scored alot more. He was like this in the World Cup yeah, he was stocky but he seemed more light on his feet.

Looks like Martin Laursen may have to retire from football. Thats a shame. He is an excellent defender that could have reached the very top only for all the injuries. Is it a coincidence that Villa's season went a bit pear shaped after he got injured? i dont think so.

Phillippe Degen. I had completely forgot about this guy until i heard that he just got injured again lol You have to ask why this player was signed.

he made Liverpool's original champions league squad ahead of Hyypia. That is a disgrace.

he played 2 Carling Cup games and didnt impress in either. I guess its unfair to judge him because of all his injury problems but even so he wasnt even that good for Dortmund or Switzerland.

i am gutted about laursen. i hope he makes full recovery, even if it means he misses the rest of this season and the start of the next - i still want him in the squad.

After criticising Sammy Lee for getting involved in an argument that didnt concern him, the fat hypocrite Sam Allardyce has done much the same thing by speaking out against Roy Keane's comments about Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce.
