So, did anyone get the Nexus 4 today?

I put it in my shopping cart and then errors kept coming up (on three occasions). The rest of the day was spent refreshing the page.

Here's THE review of the Nexus 4. It's the first professional one, I really recommend reading it if you're thinking about getting that phone. The dude disassembled and reassembled it 3 times, did almost all tests and described everything in detail.

Or, if you're too lazy just skip to conclusion - it's definitely the most educated one you're going to find. (You won't find bitching about LTE here)

I'm still looking forward to the first few tests of those Nexus 4 retail units and first software updates. I want to see how the overheating issue goes and how much the battery life improves. It's kind of an issue if you can't put a spare battery.

I'm curious if we're going to see a slightly redesigned version to better deal with the cpu overheating.

I'm going to have to leave the supernexus rom I am using. Something in the ROM causes the OS to not sleep properly. I am only getting 10 hours battery life every now and then. I was getting 48 hours on stock with the Siyah kernel. I think I will go back to that and just remove Touchwiz and the like, myself.

It's crazy to me how underrated the One X is.
Why? I think it's selling fairly well. It's overshadowed by the SGS3, which is technically a little better all-around. The design of the One X is better though - feels cooler in hand, especially the white one.

So, will T-Mobile be selling the unlocked phone as well or just with a two year contract?

I'm not a fan of LG/Google Nike Air Jordans marketing schemes. Sold out? GTFO, low supply on purpose or they rushed the release.

I wasn't going to buy it today because I want to see it physically first and want to see if the phone has some weird problems that only users will complain about - like purple photos in the iPhone for example. Shit like that. I'm not paying 350+ for something I didn't see in physical form first. fuck that.

COCKSUCKERS.

By the way, Google never emailed me that the phones were released on sale. Obviously I knew, but still, point stands. If you ask for email to notify me, then FUCKING NOTIFY ME.

I am not sure it was a low supply on purpose, or not.

All I know is 100s of people on forums I frequent, were trying to buy a device. And failed...!

on XDA about 70 people got theirs. Vast majority of people couldn't despite being on Google Play in the exact minute when the sale launched and didn't make it in time anyway. Pretty crazy.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people bought those phones in bulk to resale them at an elevated price on ebay and such. People also bought in bulk to sell abroad at a much higher price. For example, people from most European countries tried to order through the German Google Play Store. Possibly that's what I will do as well as we don't have hardware in our local Google Play Store, as is the case with 99% of the world.

Sofi, it's time to switch phones, I suppose :p

So on average we get 2 years of official support for Nexus devices then. Still better than custom Android flagships and most of all Google delivers better support (almost guaranteed, timely updates).

Google said they're expecting a restock in a few weeks.
wow, few weeks. That's really a lot of time considering how some people had already sold their phones on ebay thinking they'll be getting the Nexus 4 in a day or two :p
So they'll be up in a few weeks and then they'll be gone in a couple of minutes as well. Even the Nexus 7 was easier to get. I think they supplied pathetic amounts of those phones.

I do hope that within these few weeks they have enough stock so that people get a chance to put their order in, or at least enable a pre-order system which they did not do this time round.
