Sean ''Diddy'' Combs has been in and out of town to visit the cast of MTV's Making the Band 4, Season 2, which throws winners from past incarnations of his American Idol-meets-The Real World reality show together as they complete their new albums.
Living since late November in an $8.5 million bayfront mansion in Miami Beach complete with rooftop pool, dance floor, listening room and mini-golf course are: Danity Kane, the platinum-selling quintet (Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, Aubrey O'Day, Dawn Richard and Wanita ''D. Woods'' Woodgette), which was formed on the shows third installment; the currently unnamed five-member male group from Making the Band 4, Season 1 (Que Mosley, Robert Curry, Michael McCluny, Willie Taylor, Brian Harris), which was formed in August; and Donnie Klang, whom Diddy awarded a surprise solo contract with Bad Boy Records at the end of that season.
Can the guys and girls co-exist in the same space?
So far, so good. On one of their first nights here, the group joined Diddy at South Beach's club Mansion as VIP guests.
''That club is dope", said Mosley, but with less than three weeks' time to complete three albums they won't have much more time to go out. Of course, Diddy -- known to be demanding in past seasons -- will keep them busy too.
''He's a very shrewd businessman,'' said Curry, "but he'll make you hot.''
Filming wraps in late December. The show premieres 10 p.m. Jan. 28.
